- cdc #1: Mojo by Bonzai & Pretzel Logic
- demo MS-Dos Area 5150 by CRTC & Hornet [web]
- The end credits music engine is different from 8088 MPH - this one is single-channel and synchronized with the raster, for a 15.7 KHz sample rate. Somewhat stricter limitations on combining samples/volume levels, but it leaves much more CPU time available (so more interesting things can be done on screen).

- 64k Amiga OCS/ECS Done by Abyss [web]
- Super slick, music kicked my ass. And there's this inexplicable urge to go rewatch Blackadder now...

- demo Raspberry Pi 420 years of Teletext by AttentionWhore
- Outstanding prod! Teletext was never a huge thing in my country, but this sent me on a little knowledge quest- apparently they'd kept it going from 1982 until 2014 and I never even knew...
Loved the low-res art and the funny history lesson. Excellent soundtrack too! - rulezadded on the 2022-08-09 01:31:06
- intro Amiga OCS/ECS salty water by Melon [web]
- Smooth! Loved the tune as well

- 32k Wild Space Treat Ti by Onslaught [web]
- It's a treat alright! Was awesome to watch at the compo - extra thumbs for successfully tweaking a classic gameplay formula with new twists (and on probably the slowest 16-bit home computer ever!)

- demo MS-Dos Area 5150 by CRTC & Hornet [web]
- There will be a proper direct video for sure. The party capture had to be done quick at 1am, but we'll do a better one as soon as time allows. :)
@Sesse, apperciate the perspective. I guess the intro does go on for a bit - we wanted to account for viewers who aren't super familiar with the hardware, or may not realize the difference from something like 8088mph, etc... but it's true, there's a delicate balance to keep.
Re: emulators, I think a good part of the problem is that PC emulators seem to treat CGA as a subset of VGA, and try to work out resolutions, aspect ratios and refresh rates from register contents. At least DOSBox, PCem and 86box do that. But it's really a fixed-frequency device, like most early home computer video standards. So to emulate it accordingly, you'd render what a monitor would display: a fixed frame size (overscan included), refreshed at 59.92Hz with the active raster sized and positioned within as required.
That would've certainly made it easier to do quick dev tests on emulators. (Certain parts such as the end credits would need a bit more than that though...) - isokadded on the 2022-08-09 00:35:38
- 64k Wild Nucleus by SMFX
- This rocks, Jack approves indeed!
Great to see the writeup too. I knew this thing was semi-PC-"compatible" (or MSDOS-compatible, sort of) but had no idea how few amenities it really had. - rulezadded on the 2022-07-11 19:01:43
- 64k ZX Spectrum Xplanation by Kaszi75
- What Noby said. I enjoyed it! Deserved a more respectable placement.
