Well done but doesn t work for me
Sweet particles!
crash at load time.
Enjoyed it!
Nice demo
really nice , i like that!
crash at load on XP Sp2, Vista (GTS8800, Core2 Quad,2 Go) : 1st - instruction at "0x6cef7390" use memory address "0x00181000" "memory couldn't be written" (and try to connect to internet) and 2nd - instruction "0x6f6f2c2c" use memory address "0x6c6f2c2c" "memory countn't be read"
some nice graphics but oh my fucking god those colors, glow and blurring!?
Crash 2sec after loading (no messages errors) config :
XP SP3 (32bits) , QX9650, GTX 470 (1280mo), 4go (DDR2)

youtube please !
Somehow empty and boring.
I liked it, especially the soundtrack and the second part.
But somehow, the whole thing feels a bit empty/soul-less/incoherent.
One of the best in the compo nevertheless.

looked like an ASD demo on a bad hair day
Nice flow, nice melody and nice transitions. The part with the human is really cool. Best demo from Nuance, a demo i can watch many times.
i didn't get it. still, thumb for the fireworks performance
what noby said, a bit overdone in places
nice! great work! especially transitions and music :)
Oh god this was amazing!!! It might not be as technically impressive as other demos and it looked a bit dated in places, but the direction is outstanding and has such an immersive atmosphere. The opening scene with the logo, 3d scene and the fireworks gave me chills.
And the soundtrack...wow! One of the best demo tracks I've heard for ages. Really exciting and it matches the pace of the demo perfectly. The additional sound effects work exceptionally well too.

Very good Nuance demo, I like it :-)
Nice one!
Ok, which crosseyed, colourblind, dutch, systems-programmer is responsible for the eyeraping colourscheme? I think effects were niceish, but frankly got distracted by the eyestrain-inducing palette. Sorry.
I get the feeling the ideas were there, but the execution was lacking in almost every area. For a crew with such experience, I expect more polish.
ok

This was great! I thoroughly enjoyed the style of this one :). Solid production technically and aesthetically, very personal style and far from boring :).
Sorry this seems to be a collection of really bad ideas, very badly executed.
There is almost no saving grace in this demo that borrows very heavily from very popular productions from ASD and Farbrausch. How could anyone think this was a good idea is beyond me.
The execution is below expectations as several design and technical errors are made:
* Same old over-saturated coder's colours
* Same old "lets blur everything to hell" and post-processing flare overlays that obstruct view. The whole thing looks like it is rendered on a 320x240 buffer and scaled up with a cheap bilinear filter.
* Particles intersecting with geometry in plain view.
* Overdone vignetting that spoils any sense of immersion, by shouting "you are still watching a rectangular screen".
* The kinect effect was ok, although there is a stray pixel at the bottom left; which means that you can now "see" the rectangular frame of the animating sprite.
The whole feeling that I get from this demo is that it would kind of work in 2004 but not any more. At least that's my opinion.

What Navis said. It's very annoying to watch a demo and say "oh hey, I know this scene from somewhere…".
I am trying to figure out what the hell the story is in this thing. Like, if you would try to explain to someone what this is about.
First we see some fireworks. Then there's a street and something grows up the wall. Smoke comes out of a chimney. A person on top of a tower. Finally some sea animals or something. More fireworks. The end.
I mean, seriously. I don't necessarily expect a Hollywood movie. But maybe, like... some sort of an idea would be really nice. That would certainly make it much easier to get the prod stuck in people's brains too.
Just my thoughts on this :]

I think it is about the transition of material into etherial and back. The man/woman is awakened, becomes a spirit; the trip is over and back to the streets.
crashes at loading
What Navis said, plus the music is meh.
I think Navis nailed it ... in both comments
Really nice Demo. Love it!
ok'ish...
Quite nice.
<3
exactly what decipher said... and seriously, those colors...?
seems to be a matter of taste. i <3 the colors and the code and the gfx and the demo. +++
I enjoyed it, color scheme is a bit off at times but other than that it's a nice demo. Good transitions and the music is nice too. Oh, and I liked the greetings part. :)

what the fuck.
Usually, my views are quite different from Navis' even if we're in the same group, but in this occasion I agree completely with what he said.
and yes.. the "deja vu" quotient was through the roof...

it's a very reasonable observation...
Tell me whyyyyyyyy ! ( Sorry i could not help )
Good show but some textures are just ok, also some scenes seems a bit "empty".
Well, as Navis coined several things here but also the scenes are on for way too long.
Magic touch is about 10-15 seconds per scene or at least some solid developments after that. This just kept on and on. First showing a boring effect and then continuing with greetings for 1:30 minutes with the same effect on? Who wants that...

pro: it's ok, sometimes these things happen by accident... which is not strange, considering that we are all trying to produce visuals on, usually, very limited resources. So... Houses, tentacles, cubes etc. etc...
Some nice particle stuff, but maybe a little overpostprocessed and whitecrushed
Liked the kinect capture, nice idea
Hello ^^
A question for pro :
A new version of the demo without crashing?

this demo totally reminds me of that old 1960'ies ASD demo

I believe that there is a certain stage in most cg artists' path (generally speaking) where postprocessing is being totally overused. Like, you just have to sort of get it out of your system at some point. So when you have done that, try to use it more sparingly. Also: There is of course always a fine balance between perfectionism (that noone but the creator himself will ever notice) and delivering on time, but I think that you need to take some more time to polish things up.
nice. great music.
sound rules ! demo rules ! 2nd place well deserved. Especially I like the way it was created: from one scene to the next and the artist watching it evolving during the creation process. THAT is the way of a true artist. color shemes story etc. are irrelevant facts in my book.
you made me wanna move :)
really ASDish. i like that demo but this is not a killer one.
boring
I really wanted to like this, but it's just such a huge mess. :(
What Gragaj said.
Or have I missed something? Have ASD and Farbrausch copyright on certain type of demos or is just Navis ego to big for pouet?

nice work, but not really my cup of tea
The birds are stolen from FR Rove demo. And even no greetings to Farbrausch at the end.
I like the syncing to the sound effects, and the burning cloth was pretty cool.
Apart from that, what maali said.

art :)
not bad
I liked this prod. I agree with a lot of Navis' post, and with what d3pth said, but I think that the music and sync really do save this one.
Navis: About the crappy vignetting: I had the same thought, but then I realized something. Think about how the vignetting would look like on the big screen.

is ok
I like it on the video - but the speed varies between 1 frame every 2 or 3 seconds, down to 1 frame evry 10 seconds
and with the latest drivers, it's fine!
Nice one
That's quite good.
I enjoy the overall demo but there are many problems as Navis said - flow is not always good, some parts look empty, incoherent, it lacks some polishing, too ASDish, etc.
Still, I enjoy it. :)

Nice
I don't know what to say.. Let the thumb speak for itself.
doesn't hold
doesn't feel right
that was cheesy and ugly.
Not bad
okish
