- demo Nintendo DS k2 - 029: numbering sucks by k2 [web]
- good work!
but i'm sure it should be better on ONE screen. straight 3d on both screens is not a challenge and looks mediocre for demos... or you must do something with a twist.
now it clear: we definitely make the right choice for our demo. - isokadded on the 2009-12-30 12:11:46

- So, i got an acekard 2i card, and fix the stuff. The demo uses nitrofs, but as WinterMute from devkitPro says: "The library works just fine on slot1 cards - unfortunately most current menus don't implement the argv required.", and that is the bug! Demo didn't find its data, silly.
Now demo searches through card folders for the rom file. Please, guys with M3, R4, ets, can you test this fix and, if it works, we can update final version?

- 2error occurred: what are you talking about? demo works sleek and perfectly on slot-1 cards! it actually made using such card - Neoflash MK5 2007.
if you familiar with DS homebrew, just give me a clue and i fix the demo. - isokadded on the 2009-08-19 09:37:25

- 2kusma: demo preloads only 400 mp3 frames (about 11 secs) of music and the first scene, then it stream all content from rom (mp3 frame at a time and a full scene 10 frames before it actually needed). maximum bandwidth used (for scene with wall paintings) is about 600 kbps, in other parts no more than 200 kbps. now i see that is also too high for old cards... i can reassemble demo data for about 100-150 kbps, i think.
but better we made another prod keeping this experience in mind. =)
ps: bloody DS rendering engine and its 48-line buffer didn't works for us in "paint-the-city-RGB" part for sure. dynamic textures is not for DS, or they should be very-very fast.

- sorry guys, another one DLDI-error check is missed... and we didn't plan to update demo again. so, old card (made before 2007, i think) owners, please, use appropriate DLDI patch from here: http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/DLDI/

- 2error occurred: actually there is no clipping issues, the engine is solid as a rock - there are some poorly filtered (or totally unfiltered) by NDS chip textures. i hope we change text to polys in the final.
