- intro Gameboy Advance Copper/Blobs by Yakuza
- Well, a few things... first it's been a while, so it's possible nobody will read this now, but, to set the record straight.... for one, this could be done at least 3 times faster in software (maybe even at 60fps in software) - for two, it could be done more than 6 times faster by using hardware... and I'm not talking about dropping into tile modes, you can do rasterline copperbars in bitmap mode, and using sprites for the objects. Also, yeah, my site has a lot of outdated stuff on it, but it should have (At that time) also have had a link to BH03 - which is a reasonably impressive gba demo. Either way, I'm just saying this "demo" is ridiculously slow for what it's doing, and doesn't deserve to stand alongside many of the other productions on this site.

- demo Gameboy Advance Ego GBA by Mainloop [web]
- Very nice. 3D is not the best, but it looks pretty good. VERY well synced.

- It would be nice if this ran at more than 10fps... it would also be nice if it used the hardware instead of just the framebuffer... GBA is quite capable of doing this at 60fps.

- demo Gameboy Advance spaceship by Mothership
- Terrible, just terrible.
Prods like this are what make the GBA scene look bad. - sucksadded on the 2004-07-15 18:48:30

- I've just wasted too much of my life trying to read the scroller :) You could at least leave the text uncompressed/unscrambled in the rom so we can read it without waiting so long...

- demo Linux Windows Chimera by Halcyon
- Heh, I even registered just to post here :)
well now that I can comment someone has already said what I wanted to say in essence (sh0ck)
but I'll restate in brief:
I have no argument that this is art, in fact it is art in it's truest form. It's fairly well done and interesting in my opinion. However while demos are always art, art does not always make good demo material. This is the fatal flaw from my viewpoint, that this demo does not fit with all the others out there. In my opinion, all demos should have some sort of theme. Some demos have little theme but this has none I can see.
I neither love or hate this production overall. As an artistic piece it is very imaginative and well done. As a demo I don't like it, and consider it unqualified to be called a demo.
But all these things are governed by opinion anyhow, so no 2 of us will think exactly alike :) - isokadded on the 2002-08-19 02:51:21
