- artpack MS-Dos Aces of ANSi Art Remembrance Pack
- Sir GarbagetrucK,
You've got to be kidding me. Do you *not* realize that these ANSIs were drawn between 1989-1991? Of course they seem primative in relationship to todays standards. But to say this is a particularly BAD pack is sacrilege. The point of this release is to demonstrate what ANSI looked like 12-14 years ago. At the time these ANSIs came out, they were cutting edge, they were pioneering. These are the forefathers of the ANSI world.

- artpack MS-Dos Aces of ANSi Art Remembrance Pack
- This is a special remembrance package of artwork by the Aces of ANSi Art.
To view this slide show, run the coded viewer (included) by typing "ACIDVIEW.EXE" from the command line. Refer to the NFO file for details denoting that modem/baud simulation is strongly recommended for best results.
This version of ACiD View 4.36f has been specially updated to be compatible with all versions of Microsoft Windows, including Microsoft Windows XP (and all antecedent versions).
Power to PC-ANSI.

- diskmag Windows Sinner #1 by Spiral
- A very simple and pleasant interface, more importantly it runs fast on todays mid-range PCs. From the looks of it, it's a decent charts-type emag.
Unfortunately, it's in a language I don't understand (Polish or Norwegian?).

- diskmag MS-Dos absorbance #1
- Correction: Although there is some artwork (namely the FILE_ID.DIZ) designed by ACiD Productions, this magazine is not an official ACiD Production.
On the contrary, it was founded by an individual named Hornet / RCA, coded and produced by Hooptie of Artworx ANSI editor fame.
I give this product a mild thumbs up because some of the articles are well written at really serves as a barometer of where the scene was heading at this time. Here you see the tides of the art scene changing from ANSI to Hirez VGA, and the really (lame) impact IRC had on the ANSI scene when the dial-up BBS world started to collapse beneath it.
There are some feature interviews with legendary female ANSI artist Kitiara and ASCII legend mHz.
Oh, and I'm sure you'll want to instantly hit the F10 key once you start reading.
Tested to be compatible with Windows 2000.

- diskmag Windows WorldCharts #15 by The Silents [web] & Scoopex [web] & Hoodlum [web]
- I've now tested it on about 6 different machines. The magazine is excellent but for some reason it is only bareable to maneuver on 2 out of 6 boxes, all running at speeds 500MHz - 1.4GHz.
It would be nice if there were a patch or re-release which has an option to disable whatever is slowing things down. :)

- Gargaj,
A text version would be very useful, but the one you've linked to appears to have truncated alot of important text past the 70th column. :(

- dipswitch - No problem. Don't let it happen again. ;-)
If people have the bandwidth to download a 120mb music disk they'll be pleasantly surprised to find several veteran musicians contributing to this album. - rulezadded on the 2002-12-29 03:39:45

- All in all this was an awesome production. It did run slow for some reason on one of my 500MHz Windows 2000 PCs, not sure why. Can't wait for #16.
