- 4k Windows HAL 4000 by SandS [web]
- Really cool audio work! Particularly love the instrument, that develops slowly over time. The general feeling I get from the soundtrack really matches the visuals, and even though it's based on Virgill's awesome work in 4klang, I still think you nailed it and got it to fit this particular intro very, very nicely! Great job on that. I'd be a hypocrite saying SAPI is lame, since we did that for Yermom 64k intro during the greetings part, too ;-)
Visually, it really manages to set a mood and keep us there. Even though there's really not much happening, what IS happening is very skillfully made, and it's very true to the film, this obviously is a tribute to.
All in all, a very nice 4k prod, and it's really a shame there wasn't a separate compo for 4k. No doubt you'd have won that :-) - rulezadded on the 2017-08-29 14:05:19

- Very sweet firstie. Not all too fond of the audio work, though the retriggered snare-thingy actually works quite well. Could have wanted a bit more bass, melody or something on top, to stand a bit out instead of simply being this grinding foundation on which the visuals just evolves. Visually, I think there's some really promising things. The DoF is perhaps a bit heavy in places, but it's there. Classic old school geometry and effect, but it's there too. Lots of great potential to build from, and I feel confident this is definitely not the last we'll see from your hand in this category 😉

- demo Windows Our Other World by Hoodlum [web]
- Basically all of Moozooh's points are valid. However, I kinda feel that it's probably not as bad as it's made out. Sure, there's some really weird design choices and the music is kinda generic, using publically available samples for the song, that have been heard quite a few times before. But even with all of the above, one have to also consider the amount of time this must have taken to create. You very obviously had a story/concept that you wanted to convey, and put some effort into doing so. So all in all, a piggie.

- 64k Windows Yermom by Poo-Brain [web]
- @rloaderro Yeah, it's Windows' built in speech synthesis. Routed through the synth's vocorder. Equalizing and filtering done separately with each word/greeting. Group names that are not actual words did cause some trickery to get it to pronounce correctly too. Spelling the phonetics instead of the word and so on 😉

- I genuinely laughed my ass off! The way you present it is simply hilarious. And the fact that your dick jokes actually require skills and probably a hell of a lot of work, makes this prod as demoscene as can be. Thank you very much for keeping us all 12 years old ;-)

- demo Windows Register by Satori [web]
- Have to say the demo compo was a bit disapointing this year. Had it not been for this demo and perhaps two others, it would be really sad, but I think this beauty rose far above the rest of the competition, in my opinion thanks to the gorgeous soundtrack.

- Already told you how fantastic I think this prod was and is. We talked about it on our way back to Denmark, and I really have to know: The faces on the pillars, were those discovered by accident and then "enhanced" by lighting the eyes or was it a deliberate act? In any case, it's amazing to have several "highlights" in a 4k! The electricity in the cables, the surface of the sphere, the interesting "architecture" and the way it's all put together to form a full fledged story, that most would be proud to fit in a 64k intro!
On the music: Absolutely gorgeous! The drums/percussion made me smile throughout the screening of it. Wonderful progression and as usual, incredible instrument design.
Everything is just so coherent and well thought out. I'd be surprised to see better 4k intros than this at any party in 2017. - rulezadded on the 2017-08-21 14:24:16

- Really goodlooking visuals, and it's obvious there's some thoughts put into the choice of colors and composition. Mad to be writing that for a 256 byte prod. Lovely work ;-)

- The instrument design in this prod was truly amazing! You really got that synth propelled to the next level! Great work. The visuals were amazing and really rocked. The scenes could perhaps benefit from a bit more content - the effect is super awesome, but a bit more effort to the scenes/surrounding would really make this prod a powerhouse. All in all, a fantastic 64k, and considering you made everything yourself, it's mindboggling how rich an entry this was!

- Wow! This one really blew me away. Amazing amount of work this must have taken. Cool story, great visuals and actually you managed to have audible speach/lyrics/voice on the PA, which is an achievement in itself :D Great work you guys ;)
