• @ccovell: I guess they were sold in much lower volume than the PC-E or CoreGrafx, but european TG16s are surprisingly easy to find these days. They're still sold online (boxed and unused, mind you) for ~$100.
  
  I actually had a really hard time getting the ROM to run on my TG16. It would often crash either at startup (I could sometimes see the resolution switch and then it would hang) or later on while running. Dunno if that's related to my flash card or if it's something about this ROM.
  
  Thanks for the speed hack tip, I was wondering about that but felt to lazy to trace it in a debugger.

  The video doesn't really do it justice since the music playback is timed against a 60 Hz VBI, and I captured the video from a european (50 Hz) console, so it plays too slow in the video.

• Hilarious. I like the small details, like how the guy is casually holding a cigarette on the early levels and then switched to bracing himself against the wall as he gets more and more pissed.
  
  There should be an effect where the screen blurs and fades to black for short periods of time every now and then when the guy gets so pissed that he can't keep his eyes open for more than a few seconds at a time.
