• kusma: isn't DirectX an abstraction of the hardware? I don't care as a coder if there are more layers between SDL and the hardware than between DirectX and the hardware. I don't care how it is technicaly done, all i care is how i can use it (as a coder) and from this point of view SDL is like DirectX (without an own 3D API, you have to use OpenGL).
