- For those of you concerned about the "recycling the effects from Major Release": Sorry for not having the time to write any new effects. However, that's actually one of the reasons to create this production. If your point is "it looks just like Major Release" my point is "it looks just like Major Release which was 587752 bytes long but this one is 39980 bytes long". Sounds like a reasonable piece of recycling to me. You may of course disagree...

- About the crash - sorry :O It must have been some last minute change since I did test with the A500 when the intro was almost done but I didn't test the very last version. Thanks for the suggested fix - I'll take a look into it and provide a fixed version ASAP.

- One more thing - actually the only image I'm not sure about is the head in the zoom&rotate routine. You can ask PiirakkaMunalla about that if interested. :)

- @hempest: You're certainly entitled to a stylistic opinion and don't need to defend it. It was your googled image claim (and talk about jpegs) that had to be corrected since it was coming out of your ass. Thanks for taking the first one back and explaining the second one.
Since you seem to be interested: some of the images for the demo are downsampled from 24 bit images (but not jpegs, googled or otherwise, as you claimed) and then processed further by manual pixeling - not to look like those 1991 images you refer to but to look reasonable given the 8 color palette (in some screens). TrueType fonts certainly have been used and no one's ever claimed otherwise.
As said before, the stylistic decisions are a matter of taste. It was really never meant to look or sound like a 1991 demo. I wrote it to see if I could implement the effects I liked back then or not - that's it. I composed the music as it is since I like italo disco. I included graphics to support the code (since having something on the background often makes things a lot harder). For that I tried to use whatever I got from the graphicians in a way that they'd look at least reasonable given the memory/bitplane/bandwidth limitations in effect. That's really all there is to it.
Personally I don't mind if somone thinks the "style" is too modern or whatever. I'm just not very keen on having anyone claim things that are not true. Thanks for sorting that out. - isokadded on the 2009-01-09 13:27:53

- @hempest: Googled images and downsampled jpegs my ass. The credits happen to be accurate and the graphics were made by their authors for this production. Their "style" (or lack of it) is probably a matter of taste but your claims are way off.
