- invitation Windows Masagin - Nvision 08 Invitation by Farbrausch [web] & Neuro
- I like how farbraush lately has done so many "none-3d-flybys" after debris.
Even though this demo obviously is a neuro-coproduction, ofcourse.
In the bus home from breakpoint I had the masagin-tune hanging in my ears all the way. Love the style and syncing. Colours are daring, but imo great.
Only minus is the rgb-lines-from-center-thing that is ugly and doesn't fit the rest of the demo.

- The party version includes a bug in the rendering of the glass panes. We did not discover the bug until 30 mins before the compo. The screenshot shows the correct version. It was not on purpose that the screenshot is different from the intro. - It is taken from our tool - and we were confident that the two were identical.
We are also aware of the problems with some NV cards. We had tested the intro on 7900 and 8600 without problems before submitting, but apparently we were (un)lucky, not hitting machines that gave problems. We are looking into it and will release a final version - including a glass pane fix and a 1680x1080 version - soon.
The problem is driver-related. A buffer in the nv-driver overflows - we are rendering each frame in one batch.
We have seen one example of a similar bug disappearing after doing a cleanup of the nv drivers and reinstalling the newest driver. If you did not cleanly remove your old nv driver before installing the current, it MIGHT help removing the driver from Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs, and perhaps running e.g. Driver Sweeper. And then doing a fres install of the nv-drivers.
If anybody manages to solve the problem in this way, please post a comment in this thread.

- I ran Driver Sweeper and reinstalled the newest NV driver. That solved everything.
Sorry for the noise.

- WOW!
But the "compatible" version is faster, and does not contain the snow pixels that the .com does.
Seems like the screen shot is from the compatible version. Feels a bit like cheating.
Don't get me wrong, I am very impressed by this intro!

- That is weird.
At my end, the 169.21 driver produces garbage instead of textues. I have reinstalled it twice - same result.

- Don't bother.
I just installed 169.21 to test. The driver is severely broken - all textures are replaced with garbage - but it is still possible to see what should be going on. And the bug is still there. So no need to install old drivers to test this.
Anybody running 7900 who can / cannot reproduce the problem? - isokadded on the 2008-03-04 15:35:14
