Demos that use 3D-glasses (red/blue, Nuoptix)

category: code [glöplog]

i actually have three different glasses. the other one doesnt have any label on, it just says 3D in front, so i cant say what it is. but about the other two..

the first one is red-blue. the blue works for green color. i tried on some images and i did some photoshoping it works very well!. i recall that there where some demos made for such glasses. anyone know which one that was?

the last one is an Nuoptix that i think is from the 90's (it was used for some technology the norwegian NRK channel used in the olympics iirc). may be old-tech now, but still this is better than the red-blue glasses i have, the color lighting should not have changed to much if someone still use it today. but i dont know if its too common. i would bet Avatar uses a whole different technology. but i dont know? (since its 90's tech, hehe). anyway, i want to do a few experiments to test and see if i can get this to work with some code. the timing between the two eyes, i dont know where i can get that specs/info. i tried google but didnt find.

the Nuoptix glasses has right eyepiece with dark-filter and the left has a little orange or green-tint to it. i also remember watching some dinosaurus-video with one of these.

i know the red-blue one doesnt have to care about timing only the image that is produced on screen (that the red and green parts of the image has some distance for the fake depth effect one wants to produce. but for the Nuoptix one it looks to be quite different, so i wonder if one needs to kind of time at right refresh-rates with the two different colors or does anyone know anything about how that works?

Anaglyph demos playlist on YT

if you do a 3D search you can configure the type of glasses you need by changing the viewing method under the "3D" button.
Luis: cool!
