Non sceners doing demos that sceners then imitate, odd.

gargaj: actually.. why not talk with laurent and make pouet.net open source? as in, we dump the db create tables info and .phps into github and let people pull updates, syncing up with the live site every few weeks. so folks would be able to implement their requests and you would still have some sort of control over whats being approved before it goes live. maybe calling for other sceners to help with security audit first to make sure there isnt still any sql injection hole somewhere?

Nothing odd about that, imo. A lot of CGI art has been created without demoscene in mind since early 90s, music videos in particular, where Peter Gabriel and Michael Jackson immediately spring to mind); its main discerning quality is, of course, not being realtime, or in executable form for that matter. But had Gantz Graf been submitted here as a Wild compo entry, it could have easily been in all-time top-10 ever since.

moozooh, no it wouldn't have. it would've been controversial like most demos of the genre, and gotten nearly as many downvotes as upvotes.

moozooh, also, it would've lost the compo against a 3d flyby with d&b music and a flash on each snare.

ps: Sounds good. if only for fixing submit.php and tweaking CSS a bit. Also a CSDB prod importer/cross referencer would be neat :)

I cant find a thread with looking for a demo name so I refresh this thread, its good one.

Can anyone tell me the title of the demo with some kind of skiing and at the end the 1st person viewer hitting the snowman?
This is probably newer demo from 2018 / 2019 and maybe was released on Revision. Not sure if PC or another platform. I haven't found it.
