the sierpinski gasket and cube bits. It almost looks like you can see a little more then 360 degrees and z spans from blue to brown, but then it's wavy. The cubes at the beginning looks like it might be some sort of texture technique. Any ideas on how this was done?

i guess it's raymarching - the "texture technique" is simple artifacts.
raymarching, ok thanks. I'll research that a little
yeah, I think you might be right. Thanks mate
while we are on this topic. is there a database of these techniques somewhere?
um... the nehe tutorial you might find nice
well i mean in general not just about ray marching. but, a big database of graphics programming related material.
no, really nehe tutorials: http://nehe.gamedev.net/
oh ok. i was thinking more of a list of them with some details on them. but, that's going to have to work.
i have an excel document around here somewhere kinda like what i'm talking about. it shows the name of the techniques and has links to examples of them.
but it wasn't a very big list.
you use excel ... enough talking.
you might want to talk to the demoscener who made the file. you can hate all you want. but, you're off topic.
go fekk a demo about it
