Enlighten the ignorant newbie, perhaps?

iirc the idea was to get as many (identical) demos with the same name submitted at the same party, because Pouet didn't properly handle multiple releases with the same name in the same compo, or something like that
also it's just funny
on that (perhaps dated) note, what I didn't enjoy at for example Revision 2023 (last party I went to, had a horrible 2024), is all the imho 'unnecessary' entries
it's not up to me (nor the organization, spoke to them about it afterwards - discussing the decision to not mekka 2002-style split the compo in half) to decide what a joke production is and who has the right and who doesn't - the demoscen is an open space
but (and i've been guilty of course as well in the past) - if you're gonna do a joke prod, gauge the situation a little bit and wonder if it's the respectful thing to do
at rev '23 a lot of people were gone when the good stuff started playing (last 20 or so, exceptions notwithstanding) and that kind of feels like a disservice i guess if you pulled out all the stops do make something decent
plus i'm old and hate to go to bed at 4am and get up at 8 to catch my flight/train/whatever back :)
but yes, being subversive can be funny!
(post scriptum: maali, got yourself an iphone finally, also shall we bury the hatchet, i'm kinda tired of fighting/being an asshole)
yep there's plenty of smaller parties where joke prods (as well as total noob prods etc) get more mindshare and appreciation. i don't really get the idea of submitting those to revision compos tbh.
