Aehem ... cough JP cough
PC diskmags seems like a lost art.
Yes, it's an art- I remember those editors writing Editorial. It was fun. code articles, how to optimize and make demoeffects! Seems there have been an explosion of oldschool entries the past decade. And 256b entries in compos etc. Wouldn't it be a perfect time to do diskmags for oldschool platforms? Some would argue we have sizecode.org/wiki and blogs and other kinds of things to publish on. But diskmags have kind of a "soul" with music and handcrafted graphics and interface etc.
If course PC being the most widespread platform one could make it there, but who has time and energy to do this nowadays?
Some would argue that the internet destroyed diskmags, but they were still made.
or they turn into Radio Shows. ;-)
Thank you for your work, Adok. Hoped for the very last Hugi issue.

That is either your wisdom or our luck.
So demoscene ethic.
Good luck Adok!
Good luck Adok!
Adok: I always had mixed feelings about you. On the one hand I appreciated you doing Hugi, on the other and I did not appreciate the huge number of fuckups and awkward stuff you had done during the last 25 years, especially the racial theory episodes back then.
Your good-bye again feels like a mixed bag, and "my altruism will lead me into Heaven" clearly falls into the "awkward" category I've mentioned above.
Also, the explanation in total kinda sounds like "As I don't have anything else to say, I'll say good bye", as after all most of us have jobs, and still are able to keep doing that "altruism".
But whatever: Thank you for the good you have done in the scene, and good luck on your way forward.

Well see this:

@magic: wow. why didnt i think about that. I counted 31 diskmag releases so far this year. seems active :)
I always find it weird when people "quit" the demoscene. Most people just become inactive over time.
Usually it seems it has to do with some kind of statement being made. The other person I can think of making such a clean cut was an individual from Finland that wrote a highly controversial article in Hugi as a farewell message. No similarities insinuated.
I thought demoscene is something you cannot officially leave :) But if it feels like the right direction I wish you all the best for the future. And Hugi attracted me into scene. Thanks for your work on that.
A little note to Scamp: My eugenics articles have been largely misunderstood. They are not racist at all. They are about limiting the reproduction of mentally handicapped people ("lamers" as you would call them in the demoscene).
oh lord
Yeah, don't let the door hit your eugenics-loving ass on the way out.
Not really related to Adok departure. But. The scene as we knew it is finally dead.

wtf, so you're still standing behind these "articles".
god fucking dammit WE WERE SO CLOSE
