I remember that in 1996, I had a CD from a magazine with demoscene related stuff on it.
One of them was a sort of contest for coding the best fire in 256bytes.
You could watch some fires (about 20 ?), and then proceed to some votes (the result was saved in a file that you had to send somewhere)
I look at the web and found some trace about this but most links to websites are dead (make sense since it happened 20 years ago).
Does anybody remember this and maybe have some copy of this somewhere ?
