First demo you ever saw/remember
category: offtopic [glöplog]
I think this wars the first one
I think the first 'demo' I viewed was http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=3645 - Virtual World by Tomsoft, bought from a store selling PD, actuallly 1991 was where it all kicked off for me on the scene. A few years before I saw many many cracktros at age of 11-13 i guess. Oh also I used to go into debenhams and watch them trying to sell A500s running Andromeda - DOS on them :D
A little intro by someone calling himself »The Discjockey«. Didn’t find it (on pouet) yet.
Edit: On Amiga of course.
It must be Kefrens Megademo 8, released in early 1990 :) http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=5088

the first one.. ;) well HQC Intro #1 comes close though the first one I've seen was an intro for a hacked Amiga 1000 Kickstart Disk (by HQC in '86, could not find it on pouet) and also a Crystal Hammer cracktro (I think it was done by RSI) similar to this one
then again, I've seen some 64er cracks before that, like this one by Dynamic Duo (while wading through the disk collection of my uncle when I was a kid)
Anyway, started somewhen in '86 for me. The Judges - Think Twice 3 was the first one I watched again and again on my own very first computer ;)

I am barely into the demoscene, but here is the first demo i saw:
Phon - PlayPsyCo.(I was browsing The Gatherings website prior to TG'11, as it was my first Large scale LAN). This is how i first got introduced to the demoscene.

Future Crew's Second Reality demo on my new custom built PC 486 DX2/66 machine!
Before that, just random short cracktros or something.

Oh and cracktros were on C64, Apple 2, etc.
The first Demo i ever remember seeing, and remembering it as a real demo was Charlatan . Which really for me had this *wow* effect. (I had seen quite a few cracktros and so i had some expectations on how things would look like, but .. that one... changed it all...)
But possibly, i saw Ranking a bit earlier. (And enjoyed it for the music and music/gfx-interaction.)

Probably Perestroyka.
What friol said.
The first "demo" i watched was on the Amiga 500 in 1988, probably a cracktro by Tristar or Ackerlight or Unit A.
fr-019 [poemtoahorse] and fr-041 [debris]
This will sound dumb but it was Lego Starwars III Cracktro by Skid Row.
Almost sure it was this one, back in 1999: Paradigm cracktro (starwars rogue squadron)
Sequential from Andromeda! Of course I immediately jizzed my pants and wanted to see more of stuff like that.
Most likely some C64 production running on a friends C64 at the computer club over 20 years ago.
Most clear memories are hearing the tune to Desert Dream over the phone, and then jumping on a train to go get the demo.
Seing State of the Art, at The Party.
Amiga entries at The Party 94. nexus-7, psychedelic, motion (origin 2), Roots, to name a few.
94 was also special as I saw up close the pressure of the guy doing
lola (mcintro).
FR-08 was also a big memory to watch at the party. Same with 2nd reality C64 version where 800+ people were going crazy in the main hall at the party.
Ahhh all the memories that keep me happy, when these youngsters in their 20'ies at work say "whats an C64?". :)

To be honest, this is the oldest one I can remember :
