I wonder if it will run first-gen GP32 software. It it did, this would be the ultimate portable device... If only sony didn't keep f*cking with the firmware for the PSP maybe they could claim the prize, but they won't, so this get the award in my book.

Quote from Boozembly:

"There's a new Gp32 out, and we are fucking gonna rule this one. I don't care if it's one of fifty prods, but we are so gonna fucking rule it." - Sir Garbage Truck.
Please send Sir Garbagetruck my regards and a "Cheers!" :)

This one is more of a portable media player, rather than a portable console. And as for first-gen gp32 software, I suppose most developers will simply port their emu's to the new system. The thing supports SDL, so porting existing linux emu's is very easy as well.

Yay Gizmo!! Please convince all farbrausch members to do a killer GPX2 demo, you already have as much reputation for PC Windows demos, so that alternative systems would be the next step, wouldn't it? :P

Pff... it's crap.
Nothing like a Nintendo DS... and an official SDK.
I like it's concept and that. I'll think about it when I see it's graphics.

Oh, so it has a double screen? And a touch screen? And of course the Nintendo DS also plays MPEG, MPEG4, DivX 3.11,4x,5x, XVID, MP3, OGG, WMA out of the box. As well as the Nintendo DS has a native Linux OS. And a development kit for everyone for free. And stuff.

Yeah, you're right. The GPX2 is just like the NDS after I thought about the facts!

xernobyl: You don't need the GBA, PSP or even the demoscene. The only thing you need is food, water and sleep. Everything is entertainment, and what you make out of it, is your own thing.

Sold!

.. not that it's going to provide any competition for the DS or the PSP at all, but it's an interesting machine nonetheless. I quite enjoyed the first GP32 so I'll definitely get this one too, especially since it will launch at a lower price point than the current one.
