RUNNING HAIRY.

To run HAIRY you need 540 kb of base memory and at least 200 kb of
EMS. That means have a boot up with just himem.sys and emm386.sys or
equivilent. If you get a 'Program too big to fit in memory error you
don't have enough Base memory' and if you get MIDAS: not enough
EMS memory error....
If you haven't got enough base memory then try to remove
some drivers from your autoexec.bat and config.sys files, eg - CD ROM
drivers and stacker drivers.
Hairy supports Sound Blaster, GUS, PAS and WSS. With sound Blaster if
you have a slower computer then try and play the music at a lower hertz
NOTE: If you don't hear any music try playing at a higher heartz rate.
IF you don't have a sound card make sure you don't have any Blaster
variables or the like. And if you have a SB etc, Have Blaster
enviroment variables set.
This version has been tested on a 386DX40, 486DX33, 486DX2/66, 486DX40
with various graphics cards, SB-PRO, WSS.
Has not been tested with GUS, or PAS yet, so if you try about ten
methods with those cards and you still can't hear any sound it is
probably our Fault :)
Hopefully we won't have to release a Bug-fix version.
KNOWN BUGS:
With sound on SB, part of the Landscape is stuffed up.

Hairy is Coded using Borland Pascal 7.0 and Turbo Assembler 4.0
NOT INCLUDING the midas sound system Hairy is 4204 lines of code
2220 of that being in PASCAL and 1984 lines in ASSEMBLER.
The design for Hairy was thought up early 95. Grape did the majority
of the GFX a few months ago, and Papa did the Music early '95
the majority (All except the fire) of the code was done from scratch
and the rest of the graphics were done in the NZ spring holidays
(Previously known as the August holidays).
The graphics were made in DPaint II and Neopaint, the music in ST3.1.
Also we used software like Pklite and our own little utilities.
