Morph demo by Black Scorpion Software
Morphing Demo ------------- This is an early demonstration of the Morphogenesis/Fieldwarping abilities of our new painting+animation package, ChromaStudio-24. The animation contains 15 frames of 240*260 true-colour morphing, and runs in 640*400 high-res. The morphing routine is based on the theory behind the 'Field-Warping' technique developed by Pacific Data Images (PDI) for use in such projects as the 'Black or White' music video, and was chosen by us in preference to the older 'Mesh-Warping' idea (currently used in DPaint-4 etc.) since it offers complete control over the animation, as well as a few extra abilities such as controlled distortion. The overall effect is much more realistic, but is more intensive and requires a certain amount of input from the animator. The results are well worth the effort, and it is by far the professional's choice. Initially written in BASIC and converted to 68000 code by Neil Stewart, the final version was written by myself in 100% 68030 code using 32/64 bit fixed-point arithmetic. A DSP version is currently under development. ChromaStudio-24 for the Falcon030 will be available from Floppyshop around the end of 1993. ½ 1993 Black Scorpion Software (BSS) Doug Little/Neil Stewart/Andy Younger.
