Scoopex Presents: Recoil from Special FX ---------------------------------------- Atari ST Credits ---------------- Programming & Graphics Joffa Smith Music Keith Tinman Amiga Credits ------------- Conversion Programming Galahad Music conversion ADRDesign Intro Music Notorious Here is another unironic ST port at the end of 2019! This was a freebie giveaway coverdisk on the very first issue of Zero Magazine, the Amiga got Merv the Merciless, the ST got Recoil. Its an OK game, but it is by Special FX and more importantly, it was programmed by the late Joffa Smith who was highly regarded on the ZX Spectrum before he moved over the the Atari ST, and I checked it out for nostalgia sakes (I used to be an ST owner before I was blinded by the Amiga light!!), as I quite liked it, and I suspected it would be programmed in a fairly sensible way for conversion (I was right!). So some time ago I checked the code out, and pretty quickly I had something up and running. ADRDesign being the awesome guy he is, was able to quickly convert the ST music, and also decided to do an Amiga remix so the release had something a little extra. And then the game sat on the back burner, a stupid bug that I couldn't get to the bottom of that made no sense. Then Stingray released his quite delayed Hacker this year, and that inspired me to revist Recoil and see if I too could finally get the bug solved and release it. 20minutes later, an incorrectly setup blitter clear routine was fixed, and now Recoil is almost ready for release! A quick request on the Scoopex Internal Forum for any music to complete the Amiga credits intro, and Notorious was able to provide the almost final piece of the release puzzle. Mr.Spiv was on cracktro coding duties, and he has performed admirably. So here, finally, is the Recoil Atari ST conversion for Amiga. Should work on any 1Meg Amiga..... enjoy..... or not! Kindest Regards, Galahad of Scoopex 2019!
