RUNNING THE DEMO:
\-------------------/

This demo consist from 2 parts, 1st part run in any 8bpp mode and 2nd
part run in any hi/truecolor mode (exept 15bpp),to see 2nd part of demo
you must have VESA 2.0+ bios interface in bios of your video card or
installed by some software tsr (like UniVBE). Basicaly it may work with
VESA 1.2 (not tested though) but it will significantly low down performance.
By default demo will run in standart vga 320x200x8bpp mode for 1st part
and 320x400x24bpp for 2nd part, it will also try to autodetect your
sound card.
If your have enough powerfull computer you may increase demo resolution,
in general, higher resolution will slow down frame rate and will need
more memory, i.e. for 800x600 or 1024x768 you must have at least 8-10
megabytes of free extended memory.
Some wierd thing to note, some special resolutions locks computer when you
also use midas sound card setup...
Also don`t choose too high resolution and color depth in true color mode
it may lead to negative frame rate :)
Since engine internally works on 24bpp this color depth is preferable,
320x200x24bpp or 320x400x24bpp is best suited video modes for the 2nd part.
Naturally, if u have Dual PPro mmx with ET600090 u may try to run it at
1024x768x32bpp :)
If don`t have any vesa interface, run with NOVBE option to see at least
the 1st part of demo.

Command line parameters:
PRAY SETUP or PRAY CONFIG - Configure video modes and sound card.
PRAY VID - Configure video modes.
PRAY AUD - Conigure sound card.
PRAY NOVBE - Disable vesa support,(You`ll not see 2nd part of demo).

REQUIREMENTS:
\---------------/

CPU:
---
386-SX - If you own such a machine, you are not a demomaker, you are an
antique collector or you work for a museum...
486-DX/33 - Never seen that one before, I think my grandfather had one...
486-DX2/66 - That I've seen and owned too (CyberEagle), but I don't think
you'll like the demo on such a slow computer. The framerate will probably be
  1 fps.
486-DX4/100 - It's an OK machine, but the demo will still be slow because
of the usage of special optimization techniques of Intel Pentium, which
allows us to make very complex 3-D scenes too. For instance, the Hanoe
Buildings scene has almost 7000 shaded and mapped faces. So we NEED a
Pentium for all our optimizations to work.
Pentium/100 - Getting close, this is not bad. The demo should be almost smooth.
Pentium/133 - This is Adepts machine. The demo should work ok.
Pentium/166 - This is my machine. The demo should work good on it.
Pentium Quad Pro with MMX - Oh, see? Now you got it! This is the machine
our demo is designed for :)
CRAY II - The demo should work pretty smoothly on this one.

FPU:
---
You MUST have FPU. No FPU - no demo.

Sound Card:
----------
Any sound card supported by MIDAS SoundSystem / Sahara Surfers.

Graphics Card:
----------
To fully enjoy this demo you should have PCI graphics card that support
hardware linear frame buffer.
In case you don`t have VESA 2.0 support in your graphics card bios you
should run UniVbe 5.2 or higher by SciTech software that will install
support for VESA 2.0 bios intreface.
You can find the latest UniVbe version at 'www.scitechsoft.com'.
This demo was designed on/for ATI Mach64 with 2Mb Mem. This is the ideal card.
Anyway, a faster video card mean higher frame rate.

Memory:
-----------
8Mb of RAM should be enough to run this demo.
Clear boot (HIMEM.SYS only) is advisable.
(don`t forget to load sound card drivers if your card need them)
Any memory manager EMM386/QEMM386 and alike will slow down perfomance.
This demo don`t need many conventional memory so most of you probably
will not experience any problems with it.

/----------------------------------------\
IF THE DEMO DOESN'T WORK YOU PROBABLY:
\----------------------------------------/

1. Don't have HIMEM.SYS installed.
2. Don't have enough extended memory.
3. Don't have enough conventional memory.
4. Do have some stupid TSR that fuckes up the demo.
5. Don't have FPU.
6. Don't have a PC.
7. Do have some buggy multitasking OS.
8. Do have a very old video card that not support any normal graphics mode.

For GREETS and CREDITS watch the demo and read ESTEEM.NFO.

Additional greets and credits:
Alfred and Guru from Sahara Surfers for MIDAS SoundSystem.
	Watcom for the best compiler.
	Borland for the best IDE.
Olaf Crusche and Tilo Elstner for AsmEdit: the best assembly editor.
Autodesk for the best of the best 3D Studio 4 and Animator PRO.
Intel for the worst CPU and the best vtune.
Advanced Gravis for the best Sound Cards.
ATI for good video cards that don`t support 320x200 hicolor modes :(

Many of textures used in demo have been taken from different
internet art sites. (thanks to all of you great graphicans)

Some of the 3-D objects (StoneHenge mesh) were made by DarkStar,
        a former member.

If you didn't understand the poem while watching the demo, here it is:

		   		   "PRAY"
		  by Vladlen Koltun a.k.a. CyberEagle/ESTEEM

Life goes on,
We get up, eat, the TV is on,
We breath, walk, think and sleep...
"But why we carry on?" -
I say - "if we're all gonna
Die some day..."

We fuck, we read,
We run, we play,
"But Why?" - I ask,
And no one answers.
I PRAY, oh God,
You know I pray -
I wish to live
Until the day
In which I'll know
The answer to my
Questions...
