your quantitative and constructive feedback on technical and artistic merits of this production have been noted. ;-)

Honestly, this feels like a real injustice. This has to be the weakest intro in the compо.

meh.. got high for the group name most likely.. which is ridiculous. I saw IQ's tutorial shaders on ST like that, not impressive as 64kB, definitively not a winner to me. It would be the piggy, but authors get slapped for the voters who clearly were blind here.

Anti-Spengler thumb-up.
Also a normal thumb up. I really liked the colors and the relaxing atmosphere.

Haters gonna hate...

This was enjoyable to watch, but I was still surprised by the ranking. I preferred the first half, as in the second I got distracted by the choice of colour palettes seen a hundred times before.

I'm aware we did not cater to the technical gallery. Instead, it's about physics, flow, cohesion and love for detail. Whilst avoiding tropes and playing on emotional chords of yesteryear. It can not be everyone's cup of tea by design.

At the same time, it fascinates me how you quickly you go from an assumption (name voting) to declaring it as reality. Along the way disputing every visitors' ability to make up their own minds. And punish us for a responsibility we did not even have. Or accuse us of intentional manipulation.

Y'know, I believe in fostering meaningful relationships. Based on curiously caring. As well as creating and sharing earnest, meaningful experiences with each other.

As much as I did not expect us to win the competition, as much I'm grateful for it. I learned a lot of things (it was my first 4k music). It turned out as coherent as I hoped. I could go into great detail how and why it sounds exactly the way it does. What the sequencing and arrangement got to do with a double pendulum...

To me—above all—Demos are about self-expression, courage and perseverance. The very act of sharing that with others. Within our circle of trust. It's about the people. Who I deeply care about and cherish as much as I can. In the upmost open ways.

That said, I don't know if this work 'deserved' to win. Because I've got no way of knowing. At this point, the mere concept is beyond me.

And I challenge you, spengler and those who just verbally puke into corners based on assumptions to start making an effort with your words. Instead opting for the most lazy bullshit there is.

I'm just happy that you used so much bytes for the music and didn't make Ronny suffer instead

The ~900 bytes over are well spent. Great to hear rp in a tiny intro. Hoping for moar!

that last "glass" effect was unnecessary but i liked the organic look of the 70s wallpaper-colors part with the subtle sine wobble

If that were true, why aren’t all of farbrausch’s 64ks of the last ten years on rank #1? Apart from this the creators cannot be made responsible for the votes.

Perhaps too harsh in my initial comment. Not meaning manipulation, I'd not go that far, more about kind-of-known sceners' habits in general.

Straightforwardness is not something that brings me friends, quickly. Apologies if that hurt you too much.

Not my cup of tea, definitively. Just expressed my surprise it won the audience's hearts as top.. definitively beyond my understanding looking at some other prods in the compo.

Congratulations for the winning of course.

4.9kB changes a lot.. as most I didn't care yet to launch anything on my computer so just relied on the stream. My fault.

Yours is 5kB, bike is 8kB... why the heck orgs didn't merge 4k up to 16kB together... that would be much more... interesting than putting you all into 64kB bucket loud and clear...

It's good although i think it'd work nice with a more chilled out or melodic track. I think the visuals are kinda asking for it. Also the pallete with the green reminded me too much of that 0.5 + 0.5*sin(vec3(3,2,1) + k) pallete, the shadertoy staple.

Because it'd be rather unfair to a full(>=3 entries) 4k compo to have to compete with bigger sizes? Also that'd leave the two 64ks to compete in the PC Demo compo, which would suck for them.

To the actual release:
nice colors and patterns but I wish it had more progression than pattern and color permutation, also the cool technical foundation doesn't show through, in my mind it'd have had a lot more potential. Overall does work quite well for me though, and the "reflective" look in the later section helps keeping it interesting. The soundtrack is a much needed breeze of fresh air in the 4k game, not quite sure the kicks punch hard enough to fulfill the lofty claims made by their author ;P

Oh and ofc: should be 4k :P

A fractal-attractor-thingie, given the name? I think it's OK. Music is the best part, the code is a bit too single-effect and repetitive even for an intro for me. The sync is also good.

Yes! Pants down tech wise: A N-source magnet pendulum system of ordinary differential equations. Linearized, integrated with runge-kutta 4, the fractal mechanism is slightly adapted from the usual "source color after M steps" to "normalized durations nearest to each source", which allows control over the highly chaotic parts.

Thank you for all the positive feedback. I hoped to be able to show cool chaos physics and at the same time produce something that is visually pleasant, which most awesome physics publications fail to do ;) Glad I seem to have succeeded at least partially.

the music sells it, nothing more needed, but the visuals esp. towards the end are pretty as well, although i would've chosen some of the palettes more carefully

complaining about "namevoting" is the most obnoxious sore loser behavior

I'd like to talk about—as one of the founding members—what Farbrausch was and is to me. Up to this day.

To me, Farbrausch is a framework. That prioritizes the quality of the creative process over the quality of the outcome. To enable its members to explore ideas and concepts outside the burden of expectations. Because I firmly believe in experimentation as key to pushing the limits of self-expression. And acting as a statement in itself.

When I look at our collective body of work, I see the beautiful diversity of releases this framework enabled. From fun productions, weird explorations, thoughtful pieces to technical marvel and novel processes. One always informed the other.

Farbrausch was and is about playfully engaging with each other in the creative space. Bouncing ideas back and forth. Courageously. Without compromise. This is our DNA.

Those who measure us only by our technical achievements, complaining about what the name Farbrausch has become:

You still don’t get it. Your expectations are yours. So is your inability to satisfy them. And I am stunned how anyone can put their own shortcomings in this regard on public display as open and unreflected as you do. Apart from that, you also put on display your ignorance of processing what having an entire category of minus releases can possibly mean.

Does one thing and does it reasonably well, and the visuals know how not to get in the way of the brilliant (for 4k) soundtrack.

With a different colour scheme and some text, this would turn into a big BIG plus release, rather a minus one.

No thumb because we had enough bad blood around name/group voting already but I really enjoyed watching y'all's process and the amount of collaboration in the weeks before Deadline. Hooray for mathy visuals, and that soundtrack is an absolute banger for the size and probably one of the best produced 4(.9)k tracks to date.
