I saw sth similar to this one with those famous I+T 16x16 charset....
But, well, it was not "John Mason" version.
Yes Laxity it was...
Strange...

This is a revised version from 2024 of my original prod (1998) found here:

https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=31081

I did these little but useful improvements:

- added some nice effects when intro ends
- made gray text box a little brighter which looks better I think
- removed most boring variant of moving letters
- tuned variant of vertical letters movement
- fixed bug where [ESC] key didn't work in some variants of moving letters

Have fun!

@crusher
^^.

Man, thanks for uploading these old-skool'ish crack/intros. Really appreciated!
If you have more, or even some in WIP, please finish them and upload here.

Thumb up for:
1. Back then, it looked great and fresh gfx wise =).
2. Having a motivation to finish and release your old sources,
3. Still having them on your old HD ;).

BTW. Do you mind (not for me, but for the history record) include/share the source-code? Would be nice, I think.

@sim:

A big thanks for your warm words!
It really delights me :)
It's good to know that there are still people out there linking those "old stuff"!

Unfortunalety I have nothing more WIP.
At least not an intro.
What is maybe waiting to finish is an unreleased version of my cheating tool "Cheating Engine".
Don't know if you remember that.
Version 1.5 would have been a huge milestone. It got gfx made by Antibody^SAC including nice ASCIIS for DOS command prompt when tool is loading (before switching to gfx mode), file_id.diz + NFO-file.
Most improvement would have been a scrollbar. Old versions where able to scroll only up and down by arrow button, but not a real scroll bar. Scrolling through cheats list tooks sometimes long.
I never got the scroll bar working correctly. Maybe this would be a challenge for me ;)

But:
After 26 years abstinence I forgot alot of my old Borland/Turbo Pascal coding skills.
Another thing is that I lost almost all my sourcecodes back in the days when I had a head crash with my HDD :(
I was surprised myself when I re-found a few things on another old HDD recently.
I couldn't remember it at all haha :)

But your words are motivating and who knows when time is right I maybe try to produce another intro just for fun.
But this will also be mode 13h with Adlib music (.amd format) as I'm most familiar with that.

I have no problem in releasing my few remaining source codes.
What I can provide is:

- 2x GWA cracktros (original + v2 version)
- 4x Laxity cracktros (regular + John Mason version + both 2024 revised versions)
- 2x Oblivion cracktros
- Radiance cracktro

What is the best way to do it?
Is there a sourcecode section on Pouet?

@crusher: just add a new link via the edit button on top of the prod page and name the link source link to the file with the source :) for remaining prods you can also use the existing prod and add an extra link (if there are older versions in the database). but if you do make sure to slap a comment so one can see :D

i second sim. stuff like that is way too fun and interesting to be lost in the next hdd crash, especially when there is also source code :)

@crusher:
My pleasure. Really =).

Cheating Engine? I am not sure. I probalby could have missed it or do not remember it precisely. Sorry ;).
It would be nice to release it here, I suppose. It sounds like a trainer-maker scene production.

26 years of abstinece. Well, as I said in the past: "once scenner - always scenner" ;). Nice you are back. Perhaps you will code something new? Does not metter if in a new-skool or old-skool spirit. Just for fun and the sake of the scnee feeling. I am sure there are folks who will aprreciate your effort.

HDD crash. Well, to be honest once I sent my dead HDD to the dedicated company to make them recover the data. It was expensive (costed around 700e) but I got back my personal stuff.
Now, would I have done it? I guess not. I would prefer to have a second HDD back-up unit (cought) ;).

Nice about the sources.
As Sen said - use a special "EDIT" button and add the link.

And add them all =). Oblivion you say. It sounds familiar... ;).
Be well, and have a nice day.
