Massive! o.O Really interesting bytebeat sound, didn't sound like typical bytebeat. And the architecture and colors (plus hires!) are astounding!

thanks all :)
the download/github had the wrong framebuffer filename (/tmp/fb0 instead of /dev/fb0) but it's fixed now

looks cool, and while i'm still in principle not a fan of sound in byte intros by default, at least here the visuals and audio form a nice interplay with one another

awesome!

p.s. you can use the 'vfb' kernel module to create a /dev/fb1 device which can be mmap'ed for reading in an SDL window, too, while it still supports all the modesetting ioctls etc.

Rather hilariously, this is already broken by update 1.2.5 to alsa-utils (released 10 days ago) which changes the default sample format of aplay to 16bit rather than 8bit... I will try my best to crunch the code more so that I can pass the extra parameter needed for aplay :)
Colourful!

Looks smashing!

Quote:
If your framebuffer isn't working or cannot be set to the required resolution, there is a simple C program included that uses SDL2 to emulate a framebuffer device.

This is relevant to my interests, I wonder if this method can be used to get old SVGAlib-stuff going on modern systems? I'd rather not f-ck around with my kernel.

Wow, that looks beautiful. And while such sounds are typically annoying, they really fit here.
