I tried running it on both a P166mmx with a SB16, and a P3 with an AWE64, both under MS-DOS 6.22. In both cases memories.com showed the first screen and hanged the machine, the winxp version showed the first screen and crashed back to dos, and the freedos version showed a black screen and hang the machine.

@Nuclear, there are special version for FreeDos and WinXp Dos in the archive. The compo version is HEAVILY optimized for DosBox and might not work anywhere else.

Oh my bad, i read too fast, you tried these. Okay, there might be more assumptions that don't work on your system. It worked for me on two notebooks with FreeDos and Windows XP, but i can only test the hardware i have :D Let me have a deeper look for a real *safe* version later. For example, for "Essence" i had this tested on a really old PC with about your specs, and it worked see here. I am sure we can make this thing fly on your system, too :) contact me at helmut.toedtmann@gmail.com
