You are right, no orange. If you run this code in an emulator, you will see rapidly changing colors, 50 times a second. Red, then yellow, then red and yellow again, very fast flickering. So you eye will average these colors into orange and other colors not existing in the standard ZX palette. Sadly modern monitors operate at 60Hz and can not show original 50Hz flickering, some frames skipped, some gets doubled, and flickering becomes not so smooth, it becomes unpleasant. So! This youtube video is noflick-filtered and displays orange color by purpose.

If: it ran on real ZX Spectrum properly, or had a proper 50Hz video on YouTube (I have FreeSync monitor), I'd thumb it up. Sorry.

No, we don't. Current tape version is a party-fastmade, we have plans for the final version with a normal uniloader. Becides, we want to realize an original idea of chesstube all over the screen, not the way it is now (paper only, with a simple stripes on a border). Unfortunately we hadn't enough time for that before the party... And of course, timings should be fixed for all the classic machines. Stay tuned:)
