Guys, you absolutely knocked it out of the park, especially with that takeoff scene from the screenshot. Holy cow!
Macau strikes back with expert cinematography and sound design. There aren't too many scenes this time, but all of them share a deep majestic feel; they both tell a captivating story by itself and make you quiver in anticipation of the next scene. Every single bit of content is pushed to its limits, which is something I wish more demogroups did.

The sound design/quality is awesome (when it's not glitching, but let's assume it's just my computer), but i found the music itself totally uninspired. The graphics is sometimes nice (like the fireball), but f.e. the clouds look like random embossed plasmas. I'm not feeling it. (The speech was a nice touch!)

My only complaint is that the boosters aren't symmetrical and look to small to carry the necessary amount of fuel =D

The rocket is based on the actual dimensions of an Ariane 5, so you should talk to the ESA about that ;P

I think I know someone who actually knows a bit more about the Ariane 5 booster design (he probably even worked on it).
Ohh and also urs knows just about everything when it comes to rocket science.

That was wonderful. Anyone who loves or is fascinated by space must find themselves in this demo. The quiet way the rockets move and the atmosphere of this demo is an tribute to every scientist.
wow! this 64k has atmosphere. i really like the overall mood - thanks to the camera, editing and soundtrack. also: perfect ending (no stupid story in space).

Maali: I'm guessing that's because we target skylake/AVX2 (purely as a size optimization). I'll look at decreasing it to a lower target for the final, that should be fine :)

A fine substitute for the lack of Conspiracy or Mercury intros. :) Short, but pretty, and the countdown samples were a nice touch for 64k.

The capture also features some post-party polish, mainly: reworked the lighting in one shot, slight adjustment to a couple cuts early on, some animation curves tweaked, amount of grain slightly increased. Minor things. This the executable of this polished version will be put out soon too, along with some compatibility fixes.

Perfect pace, hyper-realistic, immersive, brilliant soundtrack... Maybe too short? Anyway, I loved it!
anyway, good intro... and i like it as it's actually artistically polished enough to break away from a lot of other raymarching drivel we see these days in limited sized intros that may be mathematically interesting, but lack artistic finesse to actually look good. this intro does that :)

The intro still crashes on precalc. 4790 (with AVX2), GTX1060, Windows 7.
Skylake doesn't matter here. It crashes here: https://i.imgur.com/t878Wmk.png, afaik just after D3DCompile() call.

I completely forgot to mention this in the nfo, but the intro uses some DX11.3 features (typed uav loads) which afaik requires DX12 support - so unfortunately I'm not surprised it doesn't work in Windows 7. Sorry about that.

The demo is warping all over the place and showing previous frame if I don't activate pre-rendered audio on my PC :/ (GTX1070 & i5-6600k).

The track is quite CPU heavy, in my DAW using 16 threads it uses about 30-50% of my 2700X CPU. The player in the exe uses the new multithreaded Wavesabre player running in 3 threads afaik, and on my CPU the threads seems to be consuming about 50% of a core each. There's a lot of polyphony and complex instruments and DSP chains there, so a few years old 4 core CPU with no SMT might not cut it, sorry about that.
Oh yes - the scene in the screenshot was simply one of those moments where being at Revision felt like the absolute right thing - thank you! :)
