no really.. it's a nice prod and stuff, but.. it's not like it oozes quality or something..

I thought the gba productions had more energy than that...
(and comparatively to the hardware were a lot more impressive)

the pocketpc doesn't quite seem to be the result of any particular handheld design effort, but simply an old pc shrunk down. so I guess it's logical that this is a recycled 1996-97 pc demo. it sure looks like some of those textures were lifted straight from boost, and not much else seems to have changed either :)

so it's certainly not bad, but I just can't get excited about this either.

Pretty cool oldschool. That 3D star coming out of the water is MEMORABLE, I'm sure when you put that part in the demo, you knew you had a winner!

GREAT demo for ppc...
The 3D star coming out of the water is one really _GREAT_ effect which kicks this prod to the max. limit and surely was the reason for it to become #1 in the compo!
Sound fits cool, design is oldschoolish and general presentation is great!

This is the beginning of cool future mobile demos with growing demo-style and effects!

Go on...Byterapers and Doomsday! Give us more of that in the future!

(And also...don't forget some nice PC-demos as well! The *scene* is waiting for a comeback of Byterapers and Doomsday *PC* as well! ;-) )

Nice little product, LOTS of deja-vu with just about every effect. Fullscreen for this port would've been a nice extra.

totally forgettable prod. Thumbs up for the 3d object in water effect. It's really impressive

The water effect has been done in the past here (the original is better imho). Anyway, a solid, refreshing and well designed demo, brings back memories but that's all.

Yes! This demo is simply great, byterapers and doomsday still has it. I know that watereffect has been done before, but it is still very good looking. Great job, and thanks for the win32-port!

old hardware doesn't mean you have to do old boring demos on it (see this). please advance and make something interesting in the future.

this is soooo 90s, when do you guys add new effects to that doomsday-demosystem instead of porting it? :-D
i enjoyed this quite much. nice mid-95's feeling and the water effect is great.

Nice effects, but I don't like the music that much. Looks better on original platform.

Lots of quite nice semi-oldskool effects done effectively and efficiently. Runs smooth as silk, not that silk can actually run or anything...

Liked it, a lot, as usual from that style demos (doomsday ones, I mean). Rule a lot, and has a nice old-school feeling (and visuals :P).

Didn't comment for that too? I guess it must be the time when I stopped glopping because I had to synchronize 1kb glops with 1kb intro ;P Now, i get them all back =)))

Old-school flavor, nice music, fast and varied scenes, and beautiful colors/textures. The water scene is great, and I especially like the cool, twisting scroller that you can actually read. A lot of times, the effects used on scrollers completely obscure the text, and I was glad to see one where you didn't have to put any effort into deciphering it (yet, the effect still looked great). Demo feels unified and takes me back nearly 10 years. Nice.

Old school done better. Props. The water scene made my jaw drop. I wasn't ready for it!

another thing is the old water effects, it really doesn't look too good on a fast computer. these days we can't really make effects that depends on the last frame, since there are so much difference between computer speeds - if you care about whether it looks the same on every computer that is...

A thumb for making a 1:1 copy, so I can see the datails the video version of the original doesn't shows me.

Note that for an original Pocket PC demo, the xm is 8 channels and 380k.. After all those years I still admire the coders timing to a jazzy-funky-techno-classic-breakbeat tune!!

Today I got a brand new HTC P3600 smartphone with Windows Mobile 5 to my hands and tried to run Limbo on it thinking it surely won't work. I was surprised that it even installed, but then was I was really amazed that it ran 100% perfectly and smoothly! 5 years ago built software for few generations older mobile platform.. M$ has done something right!

If you have some of these smart phones, give it a try. It looks a lot better on actual mobile device than on PC. That is how it was meant to be experienced!
