Awesome once again! Pretty well executed effects.. The "smack my bitch up." cover at the end makes it outstanding (from my view), the first time samples where used to play an actual non chippish song (as far as i remember). And you just have the rastertime to do all the screenwork, too! :) Very cool demo!

How did this placed only 3rd?!? It's a bit formulaic in design, and some of the visuals in the Prodigy part don't really convey they same energy as the (amazing!) audio, but the rest is clearly above the others with regards to effects, design etc.
So I guess X didn't have a rule about ripping music?
I can't remember X ever having such a rule, no. It should be fine to a certain degree; having something familiar to compare when it comes to sampled audio routines doesn't seem like the end of the world.
But I haven't seen the demo yet anyway (waiting to see it on real hardware), so for all I know it's super terrible.

Solid episode in the series, although perhaps not on the level of its predecessors. Pushing the digi trickery this far is mighty impressive, though.
The prodigy part was the best. I'm interested in how compressed the music to fit in the memory, decompress in realtime and have enough horsepower to the screen effects.

I like the diskside 3, which some other people here don`t. In the whole, this was my winner of the compo. But there was alot of superb demos in this year, so it was close.

stefa: The trick is that it doesn't fit in memory; it's constantly loading new samples from disk.
Arguably, remaking a Prodigy tune on SID is a feat in itself. I could understand people being annoyed about ripping music, but this is more of a cover. Color me impressed anyway.

Some brave and original design choices keep it quite distant from the series' past chapters, and this changing worked for me in some ways. Heavy stuff for the 13th time, congrats.

First lots of cool effects and then that mad Prodigy part. If I heard that kind of streaming track from my c64 in the 80s I would have shit my pants! I remember I awed when it said 'ghostbusters' each time I pressed space in the ghostbusters game.

I love the Prodigy part. Excellent music quality. It's quite long as well. And it has some fast graphics on top.

I knew this would end up in the top3 when disk3 kicked in. While after rewatching this part doesn´t impress me at all, have a look at what the VCS did in this regard: Chiphead by Altair
The first 2 disks have really solid stuff, while i think it all looks a bit uglier than needed.
Music fits everywhere. I even like the Prodigy-rip.
All in all not the best Wonderland ever, but supersolid for sure!
