High Quality animation, as always from HBC. I love the athmosphere, which is this time a bit more mellow and mysterious, due to the underwater theme.

Funny. Two days before assembly I thought about Subsurface and if we ever see the final. :) Nice scenes but the ending seems a bit abrupt.

The only worthwhile thing in the compo (which they can close down, really, the lack of good material in the last couple of years has been appalling); doesn't quite pack the "7-years-in-the-making" oomph that I was hoping for, but it's very decent still.

The fishes look flat, boring... The teaser, released 7 years ago, is as complex as this. IMO this is just another Variform 2, released to mark an unfinished project as finished. Now go on and try to make something fresh. Even your old party filler prods like "Blot", "Elemental Square Garden", and "How to use Blender" had more soul.

I guess that FRD-15 had an unfortunate ending for it's field trip. Cool entry. For some reason I thought it was untypically dull (for HBC) at the party place but saw it in a different light at home. Thought it was too short actually. :)
xernobyl, there is some truth in that Variform thing, as it was clearly time to get the prod finished and move on. I like the fish thou :<
I don't think the fish look consistent with the rest.. You have the cartoony truck and rounded things moving, the abstract transparent thing, and the more or less realistic fishes and scenery. Looks arbitrary to me.

It's really wonderful! I think you captured a fantastic underwater feeling with this demo.
Aww man, such a shame it ends abruptly, I was actually fascinated how much more balanced the tone was for a HBC release in comparison to the zany previous ones. Even with this these guys are still way beyond the wild demo category.
