Fabulous demo, FD have just pushed everything up a notch. I've always liked FD demos but they have usually had this, "a collection of effects" feeling to them this demo feels really thought through and that the code, music and graphics has been created together where one thing feeds another and the whole thing develops more organically. I love the timings and the transition effects that are visible all over the production, its like taking a good things from the OCS demos shown in the compo and mixing it with 060 effects.

I agree with britelite and wtf.device, it seemed like an attempt at "Smoke Bomb" style design but not quite getting there. That said, this was a very fun and entertaining demo with a super soundtrack, thumbs up high.

Hi all. Thanks for the really nice feedback! This is merely an attempt to make a feel-good demo, that even your kids can watch. It all sort of just developed into this thing along the way, without looking that much at what others had done before. Well, ok - the "Popjunkie grid"-inspiration is superobvious, but other than that we just came up with something that the great music inspired us to do. And when Optic invented that mustache-koolguy-character, it just made sense to use him as a recurring figure.

@Slummy: yeah, it's such a beautiful effect you created there! My version is calculated via 2 layers of sines and then it was a boring job connected the dots that the sinelayers consist of :-D. But I gladly admit that I sat and studied the look and feel of your version (the grid size is identical :-D ).

The visuals are a bit of a mixed bag, some scenes are brilliant and some scenes are a bit plain. However, the sync is mostly great and the soundtrack is truly inspired. More demos with music of this calibre are needed!

I've read that it runs quite ok on ACA 1233 68030/40.

Well, apart from being quite attractive in order to watch it again, this demo looks for me somewhat 'too oldskoolish' feel, while it is not oldskool at all. I've taken an experiment, run it in winuae with intentionally slow CPU settings and now I think that all those oldskool-looking effects are actually done in chunky. This is somewhat not cool for me -- only for me.
Of course, that all is just my opinion and I realize that I might be wrong with my conclusions.
Nevertheless, the demo has perfect gfx, nice music and looks good (at 060 speed, heh :)
