I love this game! (Though I play it online.)
what is it with this game all of a sudden?
its almost like people are aching for the next viral thing just to jump on the bandwagon...
anyway, nice port - properly hacked, packed and cracked ;P

I don't get the success of this game (also feels like the same idea was already made ~30 years ago) but seems like a nice port.

Don't you you have something better you could be doing with your time?
Again, props for doing it. Graphics look decent.
Whoops. That was supposed to be accompanied by a thumb.
(Also, yes, I see I typed "you" twice.)

I only played once to this puzzle... My question is: At a certain moment is it possible to put random numbers so that the puzzle cannot be solved, whatever the user plays?
Would you (==authors) please remove gameover on getting tile 2048 (as in original game)? This is for hiscore realtime competitions.
great fun!

I don't think you could say for certain unless the board was really full already. I think the chance of winning decreases the more full the board is and where your larger numbers are. If the remaining empty part of the board doesn't have enough room to build the kinds of numbers needed to match the nearest accessible larger numbers you will fail. Otherwise it's just more likely you won't make it.
I say this because someone wrote an automatic (min-max alpha-beta pruning, iirc.) solver for this game from any state and the author stated it only has ~90% chance of winning. :)
Hope this helps, if at all.
Another week, another app demake for the 64. And why not. This type of game is a good fit for any 8-bit machine, and it plays well too. I'm not getting hooked on the gameplay though. It's somehow too random for me. I don't feel like I can make meaningful decisions, it's more a stream-of-consciousness type of game.
@AMcBain: Thanks for your answer. I assume probability of winning=90% when the numbers are randomly put, so i'm confident we can decrease this. But i won't do it, that was just a theoretical question when someone showed me that game.
Oh, and c64 port rules!
