@nem: Thanks. Dubai is a weird place: There are only four types of people there: Rich emiratees, tourists, ex-pats and pakistani slaves that are driven around unmarked white busses. It's a dystopia built around consumption.

Sorry, didn't liked the editing, the music or the grainy night shots. I did took the effort to watch it again to make sure of my 'meh' reaction during the compo but this just doesn't work for me.
Apparently you could watch a double sunset or sunrise using Burj Kalifa elevator! which we can also do on a beach apparently... (quotes from VSauce)
pictures and sound did not match at all, when the dubstep part kicked in - it works better in the Excess demo ;)

i had hoped to see this placed higher. touched me somehow, although in a few scenes music and visuals did not quite fit for me

I would have probably loved this with a different soundtrack. In my mind they don't connect at all. Some parts, like the one starting at 1:26, really do work for me and I confess I am strongly drawn to this techno-dystopian aesthetic, but the beats just ruin it for me.
I enjoyed it.
Best scene: The music-synced focus change in the taxi from the dashboard to the breaking car in front of it (at 1m 12s). Love it!
