A bit lack of effects, but i like it. Cool handmade animations, and some really nice fx here! And yerzmyey's sound cool as always!

Some nice and smooth effects in this one, especially the ending starwars scroller is ace!

cool panorama scene. is it drawing only one layer, or each soldier is a diff sprite?

Nice animation, nice music, nice raycaster

Panorama is one-layer vertical zoomer. It's illusion :)

Wowa! A new Speccy demo with good highres effects! And some original too. That rotating around the dudes is awesome. Star Wars scroll is awesome, very big very smooth.

Some really great ideas here and there, and nice animations too

silk smooth, impressive demo. This is the way how a demo should be coded.

it lacks a bit of "art", but it's shows the excellent coding of alone coder, and his technical knowledge of zx spectrum.

it already took it's place among my top10 demos.

An exceptional work. Technically perfect, showing what one can do with a rubber Speccy (with some AY interface, of course). Another thumb up for gfx.
rulez added on the 2013-03-18 19:49:48 by Eye Eye
Cool for the 48K production. But it's too short. Music is ok, but some gfx is weird (what does the man in the zoomer part do after the fx ends?). The animation of "the digging machine" .. hmm .. is not too pretty :/ The panorama scene is a cool idea, but is it an animation again? I definitelly like the "Scrolling Spectrums" effect the most. The other is average. The Starwars scroller is very nice, though. Although I'm giving thumb up, I don't like some elements of it.
rulez added on the 2013-03-18 20:06:32 by aki aki
I'm going to agree with Factor6 here.. right down to the "scrolling spectrums" being the best bit :)
rulez added on the 2013-03-18 22:33:20 by evilpaul evilpaul
Factor6, panorama is not animation. It's 48K! There are only 4 animations in this demo: soldier, doctor (it animates while long loading), digging machine and doctor again.
Ok, Factor6, we are all waiting for YOUR demo to be able to criticize it, since utube only is no way...
In technical terms, the feature of digging machine animation is SO THAT BIG and LONG animation in 48k. Panorama is like a vertical zooming of columns, taken from somewhat big bitmap so to create feel of perspective-correct panorama. Anyway, one can easily dig into code with your favourite emulator... :-D

Demo Weare is not yet released because I am currently editing the timing, so it would work on the fucking Pentagon and not just on the ZX Spectrum +2.
Nice one! Really enjoyed that one

rulez added on the 2013-03-19 17:55:15 by fyrex fyrex
ViThor: what you are not getting is the fact, that the results of voting on Forever party is mix of various 8bit scene people together. it doesn't matter how much you love alone coder, it is about the fact how much it gather peope's attention on the big screen. this one is a great demo, but it ended second. that is all. take it or make a demo about it.
rulez added on the 2013-03-19 23:41:19 by evills evills
Not the first time when demo is technically too perfect for people on party to believe it.
Next time just add some funky text before each part like "Look, no animation here!" or "Look, this movie fits into 48k!".
Hi-res rotator was the most impressive part for me.

best technical achievement on a 8-bit platform so far.

Brilliant for 48k. Lack of direction and art but this is not a problem. Talking about compo results - who cares, really?

Great stuff, the only thing that was a bit unnecessary was milking the 3d wolfenstein part with the sprites for such a long time, it somewhat killed the good drive the demo had before it.
rulez added on the 2013-03-25 01:11:42 by visy visy
code porn. missing better graphics, still worth the thumb though
rulez added on the 2013-03-25 07:42:41 by psenough psenough
Superb code - my jaw dropped and music, linking is nice, but the breaks to load data break the immersion. Also graphics/direction could be a bit more polished.

@breeze, I thought of removing some boring pauses and may be moving the video part into the first load. lvd has all the sources though.
Some really nice effects! Especially jaw dropping was the rotating "panorama"-part with the dudes

Pretty solid for 48K. Not much, however, but hey.

steeling feects from the future and porting them to zx is pretty impressive though

Well, this panorama is still just one-dimensional, though. :D
back to the future prod :)
:D/
This thumb is for the demo which is quite cool and features some really great music and also for evilpaul's comment. :) Stealing futare feects FTW.
rulez added on the 2014-02-19 18:49:34 by StingRay StingRay
Would gave a second thumb if possible for the balls to release the sources and panorama stolen from the future :P
stealing future feects, only Alone Coder and the Russian specturm scene makes it possible.

Also, a nice demo.
rulez added on the 2014-02-20 21:00:29 by Preacher Preacher
If you can't do it yourself, fake it. If you can't fake it, steal a feect from the future.

for steeling feects from the future... :-)
btw. and i liked watching the prod!
