strange, where was it tested? under dosbox there is only a gray screen, under xp i see only a few stars without bursts and out of command.com (on xp) there are only a few bursts at the upper half of the screen. looks nice in the videos tough (=

Nice life effect tested here on xp. Seems same effect on video if hardcoding bp to 9000h at start (vs 09xxh on xp), but uncertain. Can also be used as texture generator by assigning different values to bp. Nice work.
what sense said (without being able to test on dosbox).
tested with WinME ver 4.90.3000 on presario cq57 laptop and Dosbox (DOS ver5.0).
assumed ax=0, bx=0 => ds=bp=0x20cd.

Doesn't work properly under XP and DOSBox. OK in DOS, but game's over after about 16 seconds.
Can't seem to get the effect I see on video. The best i got is an active blob in the top-middle side of the screen and lots of dead cells all over the screen.

zipfile is updated! hopefully fixed. xp users should try univ-alt.com, it uses 9000h as baudsurfer mentioned. also univ-fix should be tested. sorry for not betatesting before upload.
