i always like to see hardware stuff presented at demoparties....
Shockwave : pinballs from the 90s use plasma displays (like a single color plasma tv) - only in last 3/4 years with the ROHS thingy do european pinball games use LEDS (ugly red ones, even).

Also reminds me of those LED banners commonly seen on pinball machines from the 90's.
