Bouncy framerate, but very cute 9k. Looking forward to the one thats not like this one :)
Fuctional proof of concept i'd say. Opera didn't like it, Chrome(Iron) did and very smooth too with the odd mini pause on C2D @ ~3.4Ghz. No clue on FF.
i liked it, all those oldschool colors look new in the modern shader scene ) also, music is nice, but it was stuttering all the way on my machine.
the internet is strong with this one
Didn't work in FireFox at all, ran in chrome but lots of pauses (AMD Athlon X2 2Ghz, Radeon HD4200).
for the POC.
Watched it with wifey and she laughed when we saw your " Message to Javascript coders everywhere: Quit it with all those 256b/1K things, and start doing some proper demos instead. ".
/U_____U\
But but .... tiny prods are "fast", interesting and rewarding.

windows
firefox 3.6.3 doesn't open the page
chrome opens the page but only plays 3 notes

Indeed, Chrome does not like the sound, but I did at the party, so I'm sticking a thumb up Gasman!
disfunctional crap
Works great in Chrome on a Macbook, maybe with some frame stuttering. Music plays smoothly. Couldn't start it in Firefox.
pointless exercise
Again. Javascript. Lost for words.
some cool tricks and attitude
does not compute on ff 3.6.8 here.
Quite nice.
FF or IE doesnt work, others I dont use. Youtube please.
gasman, not if you're stuck with corporate policies (which in my case => IE6)
visually not so appealing, technically... no idea tbh =)
but deserves a thumb just for the radiohead reference.

I agree. 1k prods is so last month ;)
trace: What about the next 4 days ?
wysiwtf: Technically it's quite neat but no technical breakthrough or "first" AFAIK.
gasman: Any idea how the heavy is the softsynth ? How about downsampling to 22Khz and switching to mono ? Haven't had time to play with the Audio Data API myself but I've got the feeling that on fly synth is still a tad too heavy for a demo.

this seemed pretty point less. the music was stuttering and the visuals borring.
gasman: i thought you could fake multi-tasking in js with timers? at least at low frequencies.
Pretty neat, and the png-compression is quite a interesting idea
Gasman: Yep, AFAIK, Fake Plastic Cubes is the first scene prod to use PNG compressed code + the Audio data API
Sloooooow
This is weird. It's quite nice for eyes, but I totally don't know what's behind it. And it's even very slow in online version. For me, not quite interesting. Sorry. Maybe you could put your effort to a Spectrum production again next time.
@Factor6: On a ZX this runs smooooooth :)
What micksam7 said.

if this prod is a fake, some info is false or the download link is broken,
do not post about it in the comments, it will get lost.
instead, click here !
Not sure exactly what hardware spec you need to make this run convincingly without stuttering (slightly more than a MacBook Pro, apparently). Also, if you're running this directly off disk (rather than accessing it through a web server) you'll probably have to arse around with Flash plugin permissions and things... so don't bother, just watch the online version instead.
