Most versions crash and one draws slowly a static XOR texture and then it puts garbage in my desktop. Could be done better in DOS and animated in 32b.

I wonder how many voters saw the infofile and checked their DLLs' versions. It's like thumbing down 4KB intro because of lack required d3dx9_xx.dll - of course here situation is much more extreme, but also category/idea is more extreme also. I have never vote for the prod that I couldn't see, but it's a good chance to make an exception, for the source and trying to create something like this. It's nothing wrong with making something sick-for-coders-only, like SELF - DISASSEMBLER or java mandelbrot. But once for some years only, and generally I encourage to use skills and coder-zeal for making typical 256B stuff, which can be run not only on your system.

I didn't manage to run Peci's intros (t-time and scx255).

Pirx: if it doesn't run, I won't bother changin my system to run it. It's not the same as updating DX.

Wouldn't the proper way to do it be to optimize the code/header properly and use a normal import table? (which looks pretty doable looking at the code)

a PROPER version can be made with import tables for only a few more bytes (!) BUT then it's not 256 bytes! (>_<)
anyway, much better 512b intros can be made using similar techniques. \(^o^)/
