a classic. really great effects for its time. a legendary demo you should get. may be a bit boring in some parts, but you can skip along with ESC.

a classic demo, with great music, get it now
Darnit, I was beat to an entry again :). This is a legendary PC megademo that noone can get running anymore, except fractalgp. Well, it runs like a charm on my 386/40 too! The best part is probably the "virtual reality" thing. The music is available in MP3 format somwhere on www.oldskool.org, and rumor has it Daredevil has 44khz/16bit MP3s stashed away somewhere ;). It's a safe bet Amnesia will appear (possibly edited down for time) on the DemoDVD. Hats off to Ole for managing some screenshots too!

this demo was my one of my top favorites in 1992/3 (along with Crystal Dreams II, Second Reality, and Panic). I watched it like thousands of times. The music was incredible.
Btw, I'm not really sure, but I think Tran released a replayer for the Amnesia tunes (which were a mix of samples and adlib, IIRC). Someone should take the time to ask Tran, or look for it.
Thumbs up for such a great production!
"ALAS, The end of this demo is near" :-)

classic!
Yep, a true classic and one of the rare american demos which achieved this state for good reason. Still running nice here (just at the beginning and at the end scroller without sound)
I kinda got my old P133 working again and watched this demo (one of the very few I still had on diskettes... with its nice dot-matrix printed label ;) ). I can only say... one more thumbs up for this. This demo ruled in its time, and it still rules.
that one ruled
One of my all tiem favorite demos.
The music is increadible, and I still enjoy listning to it to this day.
The musci system in this demo used FM synth and samples.
Do a search for the amnesia music player on pouet :)

9 fm + 4 digi channels = awesome music
also the endscroller and the virtual reality rulz
this demo inspired us much back in 93-94

rulez, classic but still excellent
Unbelieveable, especially the music was soo great for the time! All the respect in the world to tran!
O M G !! what a Beauty
oh god this is nice
I never liked this that much, except that the music is great. VR parts are boring, and this is no exception.
Yup, this was a great demo.
classic demo with *excellent* music.
Incredible,one of the best ever!
Great demo (Thanks Mindcandy!)
Love the music too. It's been looping for an hour now, and still going ;)

The epitome of early, non-sucky pc demo-ing.
One of the best demos at that time. Outstanding music (and sound technology).
How hadn't I voted for that before? I see missing glops.. ;P
the music is so nice .. i remeber the source was free somewhere too?
hmm
w00t.
yup, parts of the source is here: http://www.programmersheaven.com/zone10/cat203/543.htm
Only part? :(
Great piece of the 90s.
wonderful music and overall one of the best demos of its time.
innovative music and nice effects
i love amnesia! this is one of few demos that totally consumes my attention. i'm not crazy about the scrollers, but it gave the demo a personal touch that is sometimes lacking in other demos. the music is brilliant.
The demo that got me into the demo-scene, for sure. I saw it in late '92.
Great
wow, forgot how downright amazing this demo is. music completely rules!
Just ugly.
so real
A very late thumb up for this beautiful production :)
Adlib + Mod music, don't think I've ever heard that again.
old classic
I wrote a converter for the music in this demo (and also the game Zone 66.) Here are the songs from the demo in ScreamTracker 3 format: amnesia-music-s3m.zip
Always found it pathetic that demo coders got PCs, then early on tried to make bog standard Amiga demos on them, and failing :)
Then they spent $500 more upgrading their PC and it started sucking less and suddenly the code ran full framerate! \o/
Anyway. Have a thumb for being unimaginative.

The music is very soothing, and the whole demo is very relaxing.

Sorcecode lost.
I liked some oldskool Parts and the music made it for me. What others titled relaxing is imho just too slow to really enjoy. Plus, what Photon said: 1992 PC Demo looking like some standard OCS stuff from 1990 imho....But the melodies are too nice to thumb this down
Nice graphics and effects, although the vectors are a bit slow on even a 486. I feel alone when I say the music is boring; I find it to be too slow paced. The scrollers are slow and have some typos, which is surprising considering this group was based in the United States.
Very nice music. But the effects looked like OCS-effects on an amiga. Not very revolutionary for 1992. Anyway thumb up.
The original CDFM tracker used to create the music in this demo has now been released.
DOS-classic demo ;)
classic
I believe it's the first PC demo I've seen. The 3D effects inspired me to write my own demo on A1200, which unfortunately got lost :( Those were the times :)
Have never seen this one on the real bare metal back in the daze.
Great demo, indeed. I understand perfectly why sooo many PC dudes (future scenners, as well) got enchanted by these pixels, vectors, plasmas and that almost magic musics (CCCatch was really a great composer and musician)!
This demo was years ahead of others. Yeeeeaaars ahead. Even for some Amiga productions, as well.
Can someone take his time ans find it and share?
Since "Programmer's heaven" have changed its web, all the links are messed up and difficult/impossible to find.
Thanks! =)

Precisely what Triace said.
ok
The scrolling text interludes are a bit long, but the visuals are quite beautiful. The music modules fit this all nicely, too.
