No video on Radeon 9600. If vertex shader 1.1 is disabled I only get the progress bar at the start.

quite varied content in terms of quality but nice overall, and worked perfectly on gf6800 go.

f-prot tells me its infected by trojan.tropper ?

My anti-virus said that too.

I liked it. There are some rough parts (the tree scene eeew) but some very nice parts (opener) and altogether I want so see more prods from y'all in future. ( Basically, your modellers rock at abstract stuff, and the realistic stuff is always hard. )
Runs pretty well on my r9600, I assume weevil's config is a bit fucked up.

The content is amazing.

We know this problem but it´s no trojan so don´t worry. Btw. it is our first prod so stay tuned for upcoming prods by VeCTRONiX.
Thy all for your comments!

nice. worked perfectly on my radeon 9600 mobility. keep your drivers up-to-date :D

Correct download link is:
http://scene.org/file.php?file=%2Fparties%2F2005%2Fstream05%2Fin64%2Fvx-post.zip&fileinfo
(it seems that scene.org admins renamed the file to lowercase)

The intro is packed with MuCruncher and some not very intelligent virus scanners may assume that every .exe packed with MuCruncher is infected (at least I know that that's the case with McAffe and Upack).

Way too incoherent to be enjoyable. Lots of it was good, lots of it was crappy, overall that balances into a piggie.
added on the 2005-09-18 21:34:57 by Preacher Preacher
It was great to watch it on a bigscreen (just kidding, haha, KK you know what I'm trying to say :))
Overall is nice to watch, not very boring, but I don't see any logical connection between those effects. UFO and stars are nice Actually it could explain the "plot" a bit, it might go this way: at first some military air craft was launched from the air plane, then a pilot was watching some random intros on his HUD, then there was a dogfight near the river and in the a city, then UFO guys got bored and started to watch some random intros, then of course UFO wins and in the night they organized a big party (possible with girls from earth and random demosceners).. am I right ?
rulez added on the 2005-09-18 23:13:17 by tomkh tomkh
Well, this, as name states, was created mainly to test our demotool V-Constructor, so scenes aren't connected too each other too much. Our future intros will surely have better design than this one.

Anyway, it seems that the tool has proven itself, which was the point.

I disagree with Preacher here. Enough GOOD content and though long, entertaining and variant enough to be fun. Also i think this was their first non-werkkzeug intro so hey its cool!
rulez added on the 2005-09-18 23:37:04 by Gargaj Gargaj
i thought it was a WZ intro when i saw the screenshots. nice to see you've progressed to coding it yourself ;) But yeh, very incoherent stuff and rather dull content. also a piggie here
Crashes here before it even starts (WinXP SP2, GF5200)
added on the 2005-09-19 00:20:10 by beavis77 beavis77
VeCTRONiX as a demogroup has never released any .werkkzeug production. Earlier vectronix.org used to be just .werkkzeug1-related forum, but some of us (including admins) decided to try forming real demogroup, with tools written by ourselves.

KAi: Do you have DirectX 9.0c (December 2004 or newer) and newest drivers?

Krzysiek-K: maybe you should have chosen another group name since I don't recognize any Atari people in this new Vectronix ;) (besides Slippy)
added on the 2005-09-19 00:55:15 by keops keops
dipswitch: Yes. Slippy from the old VeCTRONiX created vectronix.org board and it was his idea to call our group this way.

General coders pr0n. There's some cute effect, but it's overall boring and uninspired: you can get better results from your routines.

it looks like "My First 3DFX Demo(tm)" - horribly ugly. boring too. please add some filters or do some better texture-work to make it look less... crappy. :) still - i've seen worse first pc-intros so.

As I've said, it was meant to be mainly a test of our tool, so there is no design in this production. This intro isn't classical 'coded' intro, so what you can see isn't a bunch of creations from happy coder. It's rather graphician playing and learning the tool. After so much time spent on the tool I just wanted to release something what can prove it works. It still lacks post-processing, shaders, HDR and other hi-tech things, but you can expect them to be introduced in future productions.

If you still don't believe, here is a screenshot from the tool:
http://sphere.pl/~krzysiek/files/screens/vc_003.jpg

Yes, general tool design is similar to .werkkzeug1, but I think it's the best way of creating 64k intros, so big respect to Farbrausch for inventing it! The tool was coded from scratch by me and we didn't get any help from FR - we only learned ourselves how .wz1 works and decided that the same approach will work for us. Don't blame us for this - I'm sure some of you have already copied design from 3ds max and other tools. There is still much work to be done, but we are going to do it. Stay tuned for our future productions.

All demotool haters: in my optnion the tool is the only way to achieve smooth teamwork between artists and coders in making 64k, which also allows putting a lot of high quality content in 64k (ok, our demo isn't high quality, but take a look at FR or Conspiracy productions for better examples).

megadelux: I really wonder how have you managed to break into my computer and take a look at the code, so you can judge it.

technically great for a first-intro. The design and flow however, is totally lacking, allthough some scenes alone looked ok. What gloom said

Reports from virustotal.com (free online scanner using over 20 scanners with newest databases):
- Dropper.Small.13.O (AVG)
- Trojan.Muldrop.1697 (BitDefender, DrWeb)
- Trojan.Dropper.Small-24 (ClamAV)
- Win32.Rbot.BTT (eTrust-Vet)
- W32/Small.TO-tr (Fortinet)
- Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Small.TO (Ikarus, Kaspersky, NOD32v2, VBA32)
- W32/Sdbot.dr (McAffe)

AntiVir, Avast, Avira, CAT-QuickHeal, eTrust-Iris, F-Prot, Norman, Panda, Sophos, Symantec and TheHacker haven't found anything.

Do you think we can put so many viruses and trojans into 64k? ;) It seems that some viruses use MuCruncher to pack themselves and some antiviruses don't care about unpacking the file and alarm upon seeing decompression routines. Anyway, it's definitely a signal I should change .exe packer.

Krzysiek-K:
No lightning visible that usually means you dont have any support for modern hw in your "tool" - material handling is the toughest part in modern engines.

Nothing visually good at all, just really really REALLY boring primitives.

The image flickers- seems to be spline or other timing errors.

Oh, and shadows isnt really anything "cool" today.
added on the 2005-09-20 15:32:27 by Hatikvah Hatikvah
megadelux: As I've said, these things are yet to be implemented. When I was creating material system, some of our graphicians had only GeForce 2, so I couldn't have used any pixelshaders and other cool things. I think material system is quite OK at the moment, allowing graphicians to create complex multipass materials quite easily (like starry sky with clouds or water surface reflecting sunset), but it can't offer more than GeForce 2 supports. Now all our artists have upgraded to at least GeForce FX, so you should be able to see some more advanced things in our future prods.

As for flickering image, at the moment I have no idea what can it be, but it works OK for me, so it's rather rendering bug showing up on certain driver/hardware combo rather than timing/spline errors.

Come on, 64k tool-demos are getting very boring. Most of them look like the other ones. I miss in them the creativity like in demo productions released for some time. These big-demos bring new ideas to us, tool made 64k demos look like tool-demos.
No thumb down or up, just a pig face.

It's funny with those 64k packed virus reports lately. Can't run this from this netcafe cause virus reports pop up and they will kick my ass if I insist ;P (I will watch it at home)

Dude...this is there FIRST intro. Chill out and show some respect. I think you should encourage growth not hinder it. In fact, let me see your awesome engine huh?

Anyway, KK are you guys planing on going to any other demo parties like Assembly or Breakpoint?

Why should I show respect for lamers who produce crap?

What do you define as an "engine" ? Please tell.

Who the f*ck you think you are ?
Are you an über-scener or what gives you the right to claim somebody a lamer without knowing anything about us ... ??!

VeCTRONiX! has been founded in 1991 ... now I claim that you've been in kindergarten around this time ... eh ?

As you won't show any respect I won't do it as well ... although I didn't even want to get that low ... You RULE - we don't ! :)

Just stop arguing. Megadelux thinks our production is crap, he has full rights to think so and express his opinions here. If you hate this prod, it's all fine, but calling everybody a "lamer" won't get you anywhere.

Peace!

i had some minor problems here, 1st scene was incredibly slow, and every now and then there was a frame totally misplaced (have you ever read the sentence "DirectSound's GetPosition function may be unaccurate sometimes" in kb's synth tutorial? :) ). the 2nd scene with the trees & street kinda sucked imho, but the rest was very nice!
