it's always nice to see new gba demos. simple oldskoolish effects and ok music, but only ~200kb and it's your first demo on gba, so:

You ship the intro with an emulator and it doesn't even work properly on real hardware? Abysmal.

Haven't checked it on a real gba yet but there were some nice effects. Graphics and music aren't so good though.

A bit short, too.
I would have liked to see more different effects.

I talked to the programmer: He did it all in C++, no special tricks (he did the gfx, too).
It was his first demo and that's something to be proud of !

Heh, I made it :P

I'm not very satisfied with it, but hey, it's my first demo, and the next one will be better :)
really sucks. except the music, all this could have been done on a gbc, anc has already been done far far better, for example in dcs's "nightmode". generations ahead? not here. graga, stop draggin a good groupname in the mud. and search some better logo graphicians next time.

awful.

this is what happens when scene groups bring homebrew idiots on; absolutely no style whatso ever, the garbage code aside.
sucks added on the 2004-08-02 23:28:36 by root root
what? I gotta start somewhere, and the code is awesome, tard!

It's just the design that sucks :P
hrmm awesome?

one of my close friends (who from time to time idles in the lame homebrew chan you dwell in) remarks that you got many of your effect routines off the web.... woah modifying run-of the-mill web routines into gba C, thats tough... *cough* dont flame a prod saying I am thumbing up my own prod (when it wasnt my prod!) and expect me not to get a little displeased with you...

sure everyone has to start somewhere, but dont be a homebrew shitdisturber...

hmm mabe people should think first before throwing accusations at someone who is just starting out... jesus. its his 1st demo. give him a break... if u can do better on a 1st demo on any console - then do it - i like console prods. i'll probably thumb u up too! :) otherwise...

I'd like to point out that I am working on a final version of this demo with *way* more good effects. I'm currently working on the way I did the sync, because doing it manually inside each effects sourcefile is plain lame. The demo is currently down on 160 kbyte just by the fact that I stripped down the sine-effect and did some other silly things to the rest of the source. If I keep the demo under 256 kbyte (uncompressed), I'll have no problem unpacking it to the external RAM for extra compression :D
The best part for me is the music, as the graphics are poor and the effects are really average, albeit smooth. The one with the copperbars even bugs on a real GBA while it works fine with VisualBoyAdvance, which is really disgraceful.
If this had been released with an unknown group name, I would probably have given it a piggy or even a thumb up, but you have to realise one can expect something better when a demo bears the Scoopex name.

not so good production.
the graphics are bad, and that last scene with the stars is _very_ badly scaled.
next, im sick of seeing the same effects on every demo! do something original..
the music is ok..
but, the main reason why i thumbed this down is: there is no design or style in this prod...
