Very confusing demo; there's a ton of good effort here, but the music doesn't fit, there's (probably?) a story but it feels both in-medias-res and unresolved, and then it drops down from 60 to 5fps in the final scene for some reason.

There's some great assetwork here - well above scene average, although there doesn't seem to be any artistic direction like framing or color coherence - and the actual effect part in the middle is excellent, even though it kindof comes out of nowhere and leaves just as quickly.

I get what you were going for - the age old trope of "demo effects make you happy even if life sucks" - but it's a good example why tight and conscious direction is so important to pull something like this off.

Fantastic rendering tech, modeling, and texture work. The track is also super nice. Direction-wise it could use some work; eg the extreme DoF in the earlier shots that gave me a tilt-shift vibe, and some details in camera placement/movement that could give the whole thing a more grandiose feel than it currently has, eg. looking at the subway station from a lower, slightly-upward-facing direction, or something. Also the shot where the camera went into the ceiling of the subway car was a bit jarring, because up until then I felt like I could be a human(ish) observer, and then suddenly fitting between those pipes I felt like an insect or something :) . Also the tone of the music felt a bit more upbeat than what I was seeing? Anyways, rambling, minor gripes, but I really liked this; I'm an Exist fanboy :)

i agree on the consistency bits mentioned, but it just looks and sounds so damn nice.

Very ambitious and chock-full of content, I agree with the ferris and gargaj, but looking forward to more!

I like it when people actually try to move the fidelity needle; it doesn't always work here, and the direction becomes a bit disjointed (especially the camera is too linear at times), but overall this was a very solid effort. I didn't catch all the references to other demo(groups), but that part worked, too.

Compo winner for me. Clear improvement over your previous demo, even though it does have it's ups and downs. BevelledApe proves again to be maybe the best 3d artist on the scene. Looking forward to your next demo!
