Absolutely amazing. Writing a 6-minute track that's this good and engaging is difficult enough; making it work visually as well seems impossible. I've got no idea whether it was composed by using the visuals like an unusual wavetable synth, tweaked some frequency components of waves to form the irregular fills of shapes we see, or some secret third thing.
Also, the connected BUS ERROR/Teletype concept across all the prods in so many different mediums was really amazing, and something I haven't seen before. The amount of work it must have taken to pull this off is mindblowing!

Zavie - Marv and I are planning to make a proper "how we did it" video, but in short, there is no real "secret sauce", as all the music was made using commercially available software! The bulk of the work was done with osci-render (https://osci-render.com), my part using Ableton and Marv's using Logic Pro/Alchemy. The only plugin I personally used that costs money is I Wish by Polyverse, and I'm working on a FOSS alternative. The hardest part of making oscilloscope music is wrapping your head around the fundamentals until it's intuitive.

Punish your scope with excellence

Insane. Downloaded the flac and with a bit of experimentation with settings got it working on my Rigol DS1104 digital scope. Setting it to acquire at 100k samples/sec with a buffer depth of 6k samples seemed to be a good trade-off between frame rate and coverage.
A cheap DSO is never going to be ideal for this. I assume the pricier digital scopes would handle it better, but in the end there's no substitute for a CRT. I've got one downstairs, but it's not been powered on in a decade and it'll be so full of dust and mouse piss it'll probably catch fire.

I have already seen some oscilloscope videos where audio has been displayed graphically. but somehow it always sounded a bit strange and exhausting.
