- Look, when I became involved with the demoscene, I saw there were many good demos and very few good diskmags. So I became a diskmag editor and made a good diskmag. I thought that would be better than to be yet another average coder.

- hfr: That's your opinion, but others have also stated that I have no clue about democoding and that I am a "lamer".
- hfr: You don't have to code something like The Legend of Sisyphus to understand the principles of demo coding. I coded three demos and several intros.

- hfr: I'm interested in creative computing. Democoding is just one possible way of creative expression using computers.

- I understand Gargaj. People here take it for granted that others make an effort and create demos. They don't value their work.
- Why so hostile?

- <<The scene has originally been founded by people (mostly on the autistic spectrum) who wanted to escape getting bullied for being nerdy. The C64 copy parties and everything that followed was our "safe space" as it is called these days, our escape from a hostily world.>> An interesting explanation!
- Scamp is several years older than me. Apparently in his youth computer nerds were still outsiders. I have not made this experience. Many of my classmates played computer games and at the age of twelve, several began to program. Also, nobody was bullied for not being interested in sports.

- I know from my own experience that Scamp has a difficult personality but he deserves respect for his contributions to the demoscene (Breakpoint, Underground Conference, untergrund.net, SceneCity, etc.).

- In his Nobel Prize speech Geoff Hinton stated that he is proud of one of his students for having fired Altman.

- So Maali is banned from using the pouet.net BBS too?
- I'm banned from posting to the pouet.net BBS.

- About Elon Musk, rumor has it that he is a member of a high IQ society which I am also a member of.
- I just wanted to say that apparently a friend of mine, who worked for Musk, has managed to make him join a high IQ society. Usually people who are as prominent as Musk shun these societies.
- What I'm allowed to tell you: In one high IQ society, the list of members (which is only available to members) contains a person named "Elon M.". And I know that the president of this society worked for Musk. The reason why I called it a rumor is that it does not explicitely say "Musk".

- hfr: I don't know, but apparently Musk once took an IQ test and scored 155.

- In one thread somebody asked why there is no demoscene in China. Well, isn't China an authoritarian, totalitarian state? That should answer the question.

- When I made the announcement that I would leave the scene, I did not intend not to post to pouet any more, only to stop releasing productions.

- The question why a particular set of compos became standard for demoparties would be a good topic for a diskmag article. It would require some research.
